Sorry for the position of the pictures. Just turn your head so it looks vertical.
I'm a complete amateur when it comes to drawing and shading but for some reason I can draw Ace Attorney characters somewhat nicely. I'm terrible at shading and until I memorize my steps to drawing a certain character, I must stare at the picture of said character while I'm drawing. Over the weeks I've gotten bored and decided to draw Miles Edgeworth. My attempts were all terrible so I decided to start with Phoenix Wright's objection pose instead. After a long process of trial and error I finally came up with this:
It's decent when compared to other artist but this was a great accomplishment for me. I realized I can't draw eyes to save my life so I left him eyeless. Still looks good though, right?
Days later, I tried my luck at Edgeworth again but with his objection pose. Again, no eyes since I really couldn't get them right. With a pose similar to Wright's, this one was pretty easy to draw.
I screwed up a few times on his hand and left some bad stray pencil marks on his hand. Oh well.
I then tried Godot. This was a challenge because his hair was very difficult to draw. Well, at least I found it hard.
I went overboard on his right (your left) side of his vest's stripe-like design. It looks bad. His visor lines also look sloppy.
I thought Wright's future self looked pretty chill so I decided to draw him as well. A little different from his younger self but the basics were still the same. He even had the same ridge spots on his sprite.
I tried filling in his right hand (your left) with an improvisation of mine since the sprite cuts out his hand. It looks terrible since I'm fairly bad at drawing hands, especially if I have nothing to look at but my own.
I then tried Franziska von Karma but it was so pitiful that I gave up and decided to try another day. That day hasn't come yet but instead, I tried Shi-Long Lang.
I messed up on his hair and I'm still not satisfied with it. If only I could draw eyes!
Well, there you have it. Any suggestions from artist better than myself? Maybe some shading tips? What do you guys think?
