I have been a part of the NorCal smash community since October 2008, and in that period I have participated in many of our local tournaments and have had the pleasure to visit other regions who share a similar passion for this game. In my smash career I have always wondered what would be the ideal region to smash in, and for so long I wanted the answer to be NorCal, but I was not able to say that with complete certainty.

But now, after this past Saturday, I am honored to say that NorCal is the best place to be a smasher.

For those who unfortunately could not attend the tournament,
Brawl Underground 5 was the greatest tournament NorCal smash has ever had.

Every set at the tournament had at least one game go down to wire; "Last stock, last hit" situations were happening on every television, regardless if a newcomer was playing a ranked player.

Almost all the matches that were played were hyped by everybody in the venue; once the plethora of videos from the tournament are uploaded you will hear the multitude of agonizing and exhilarating yells from the crowd as we watched the exciting matches, never knowing who would come out victorious. I can truly state that without a doubt NorCal has the greatest crowd in the smash community. Opponents may say that Texas and Florida have very passionate crowds, but at Genesis 2
I promise that whenever an out-of-region player plays a member of NorCal smash, get ready to play against our entire community as we cheer our hearts out till we cannot speak anymore.

Newcomers thoroughly enjoyed their time at the tournament and they all promised the veterans that they would come again to any future tournaments.

Needless to say, the energy our community now has was so present in the venue, something I have tried to instill for the past year and I am glad this goal has realized itself.

This is the NorCal that Sky has worked so hard to form.

This is the NorCal that is worthy of playing against Zex and helping him and our entire region develop our meta-game even further.

This is the NorCal that is truly something proud to be a part of.

Now that we have reached this goal, it is the responsibility of our entire community to maintain and ensure the growth of what we now have created,
because what we have now is something that no other smash community has.

Pride.

If the next two hookups I have at parties are not satisfying...

I might have to actually find a girl-friend to chill with instead of having random nasty ladies grind on me at the club.

Hopefully something neener happens in the near future.

I responded by clearly stating that I identify and consequently express myself as a heterosexual man.

I hope these clears everything up.

So after February GC I feel like my ability to execute my pattern/habit recognition of my opponents and myself has dramatically increased in Brawl, and I have found new success in doubles, which had troubled me in the past. Notably, Boj and I teamed for the first time and beat T1mmy and T0mmy(I applaud them on their synergy and combo ability), one of the top placing teams in the Pacific Northwest. I still have a lot more to go if I ever can match the doubles feats of my student Spiker Zex, but I know that I am finally heading in the right direction.

With that said, I desire a teammate who has confidence and experience, but most of all, a true desire to outplay any opponents we face as a team.

I find that I typically work best with other Meta-Knights or someone who has solid KO potential (DK is the first thing that comes to mind). I do have trouble being the aggressor in a team, as I typically play very passive and try to work off what ever my teammate does, so teaming with Snake sometimes just does not work out.

Post here if you are interested in teaming with me and having a great time at Ragnarok!

So like always, I have come up with a brilliant idea!

I want to start a fund to get a carpool of Oregon Brawl smashers (I really want WA to come, but I think it would be too long of a trip) to come to the upcoming NorCal regional Ragnarok, which is on February 26th.

I really want smashers to come that have not seen NorCal smash yet (Brick, Tuen, Yugo, Viviff) and the Smash Twins of course because I think they are entitled to visit their neighboring smash region and test their skills down here where it gets really nasty.

I would gladly house Oregon for this tournament.

So I ask my fellow NorCal smashers to please display some generosity in donating some money to add some variety to this regional. Essentially on the day of the tournament, we would gather the money and give it to their group. If we got 5$ from a quarter of the attendants I think we could satisfy their interest in taking a 10 car drive to have a great weekend. I myself will put 20$ into the fund because I know that this will be an interesting experience.

I will be back in Washington.

It has been almost 8 months since I last was with my good friends, and a lot things have changed since those days in early June.

I have come across many new events in my life, I have made crucial decisions that will greatly affect my life in the future, I have experienced new feelings, and lastly, I have met new people that have made me see life in different perspectives.

Some of these moments have evoked certain aspects of my character as I now am becoming a young adult.

Some of these moments have become splinters in my mind, constantly piercing my mind with questions about who I am to become.

My life has changed in so many ways since I last went to Washington.

But one thing I truly feel proud about is that some friends I have met will always be there, regardless of how far I progress in my life.

And I cannot wait to get off that plane in Seattle and join them once again.
