Here we go everyone, this is what I have been hinting to recently on Facebook and such. The new CLASH Tournaments website:
http://clashtournaments.com My plans for this are huge. I encourage you all to read the first article I posted here:
http://clashtournaments.com/?p=89 It explains my plan for the site and what I think it can do to really help Smash. Here is a short explanation about the Smash specific part. With CLASH Tournaments I am also making this a sponsorship opportunity as well for players, similar to how players are sponsored in other games. How I am treating this though is quite different from others.
For better or worse, the Smash community in general is not used to sponsors and acting to be a part of something larger and presentable to larger sponsorships, partners, etc. It simply does not work with large establish sponsors to throw players and Smashers in there and hope for the best. Instead, working with a small team I will be there every step of the way with my players. With a small division I can guide them into making the best decisions, being the best sponsored players, and becoming the best they can be in the game. I want to offer my knowledge and experience with my players and truly prepare them for larger things, and I feel this type of personal connection is something that is lacking from other sponsorships which is something that sponsored Smash players really need.
My first players to be sponsored under CLASH Tournaments are CT Mew2King and CT ZeRo. Clearly some of the best players we have to offer, and I'm ready to help make them the best they can be. Both of these partnerships are paid sponsorships and will be treated as legitimately to the fullest extent. Additionally in working with CLASH Tournaments they won't just be players like many other organizations you see, but will also be working as content providers, writing articles and content for CLASH Tournaments. Both of these players have often shared their thoughts and knowledge with many all over the internet, but normally in very unorganized fashion, and ways that aren't archived and easily viewable for the general public. There is no real leading place to turn for the best Smash content, and I hope to build that place. A place where players of all skill can turn to learn and become a better player. A place where everyone can turn to for entertainment, content, and media.
In the near future I will also be tweaking and fine tuning the CLASH Tournaments Facebook and Twitter pages to accommodate the new site. In the meantime however the new site is live, and I will continue to be thinking of ways to enhance the brand even further. I am debating how I can bring on even more people into the team for content creation through not only being a player, but possibly commentators, personalities, and members of all gaming communities, not just Smash.
