I think the most surprising and shocking part of this tournament was me losing to t0mmy in SSB (VC). It wasn't just a loss, he was pretty spot-on with everything he was doing and I'm entirely surprised I did as well as I did against him (i.e. actually taking off a game or two from him). These were perhaps the most fun (and frustrating) matches of the event for me.
Ban Pikachu, k? thx.
Shout-outs! Big thanks to ThrillaGorilla for helping run the brackets for SSB and Brawl (and probably a good amount of Melee as well) and big thanks for everyone else who helped get this event set-up and smoothly run (t0mmy, Jonix, Whitty, and all the guys working at BCG).
A big thanks to all the Portland people who came down for SSB/Melee/Brawl and an extra bit of thanks to Noah's dad who bought cookies for everyone (and for remembering the vegans as well).
Special shout-outs to the Jefferson guys (Neil, Tanner, Dylan, Kevin) for coming up and hanging out with everyone. And no I'm not forgetting Jim with this shout-out, he gets an extra-special shout-out for being super awesome running the Video Game Music Trivia with the PRI pizza. Neil also gets an extra-special shout-out for doing most of the driving. It felt like forever since I last saw you guys (except for Tanner/Dylan who came up for the first BCG).
Also, for the record: yes Whitty your outfit was cute... the first one, that is. You seemed doubtful about it when you asked me, so I sort of inadvertently persuaded you into changing outfits. XD I think we can both agree that the first outfit was cute (and went well with the purse) but the second outfit was super-cute. Still, I feel bad that you went all the way back home to change just because of me. D:
Congrats to Eggz for 1st in Melee and t0mmy for 1st in Brawl/SSB-VC, Thrilla for 1st in Diddy Kong Racing, and Neil for 1st at the Video Game Music Trivia.
GGs to everyone I played, and thanks for coming!
Pictures!

Ah good times. Memorable parts of the weekend:
On the way back from PRI, Jim would name off a Team Fortress 2 character and Neil would give a catchphrase from that character.
Video Game Music Trivia.
Cutting my thumb on a sharp knife.
Spicy noodles that were not too spicy for Kevin but just spicy enough for everyone else.
Getting startled awake from Jim's cough.
The car crash at the very end.
