Merit
Earlier, I wrote a blog due to the craze about the "bad moderators" and "need for more moderators" and people wanting promotions.  I'd think it holds true whether you're on this website or doing other things in life, but I'm not an expert in this sort of thing.  I've just been through it at least once.

Today I was reminded of something that was told to me by some good friends.  In the Marine Corps, a good day is a day you don't get yelled at, not a day that you're praised.

I can't talk about my current job, but suffice to say, my heart goes out to those that are looking for other employment, and I wish them the best in continuing to move forward.

Today I was not laid off.  Today was a good day for me.  Next month I will still be able to keep a roof over my mom's head.

Sometimes people feel like they deserve something because they're really talented, or because they work hard and have a good attitude.  Sometimes, that just means you survive.

I don't know about you guys, but I need to step it up even more.

I feel that majority of the people that I hear complaints about neglect about what's truly in front of them and don't give too much gratitude to what's really important at that time. This blog reminds me that it's not always the worst thing to happen in the world when I don't get what I want/strive for or it's not always as bad as it seems.

So true. I can honestly say I take some things for granted. But I cherish EVERYDAY I have to live, and everyday to me is a blessing/"Live everyday as if it were your last", is what I try to live by. I try not to complain much about life problems, because even though sometimes it doesn't seem like things are going good for me, I really don't have it THAT bad at all, and I am grateful for the stuff I have.

Definitely a healthy reminder for anyone, and an even better way to view life in general. Good read.

Agree. Look at those beneath you and feel thankful to be where you are. Most, if not all of us here have it so much better than the majority of the world.

Well hey someone has to lose in life, and if it's not you, you should be grateful. If it is you then step up or you're going to the dumpster!

Wasn't me, stepping it up anyway. That's the way to do it.
