On the note of our community dying..
Hey guys, lately I noticed the community has been arguably dying, but we can all agree that nothing much has changed since tournaments have been around. I was thinking about things we could do that wouldn't shake things up too much and would be easy to try, also i wanna jump on the bandwagon and criticize some things were doing cause its more fun to point my finger at other people. I have a lot of ideas but itd be pointless and really long to voice them all in one blog right now, if theres some discussion generated from this then ill add more **** I think as the blog progresses. If you say something really good ill add it to the O.P aswell. Here are just 2 things that come to my mind:

Things to try:

On streams in between matches they should have a segment where the other player has a coach and offers him advice between rounds. Watching sports I ALWAYS wished they would broadcast what the coach says to the players in timeouts(that wasnt a pun u lame)or intermissions. This would be beneficial imo because 1.makes games between players of less skill more interesting for viewers(id enjoy listening to a pro talk to a noob and offer advice for them in between rounds, even if the guy is *** the viewer can still learn something and its interesting at times to hear what some people have to say). 2.Gives us an opportunity to show off the personality of some players. We have A LOT of awesome people in this community that also know a lot about the game, we need to find a way to give players the chance to have some sort of relationship with the stream monsters...because at this point im getting really bored of just watching streams and only being entertained off gameplay/commentary. Brawl isnt the most interesting game to watch, that **** takes foreverrr. We need everything we can to help enhance the tournament experience for it.

Things to change:

This isnt talked enough about so I think it deserves some attention. More tournaments hosts need to come together also. I dont know about you guys but I feel like most of the time tournament hosts are competing with each other to get better numbers. People are more concerned with making their tournament successful and dont come together with other members which is what will really generate growth. IMPULSE is doing a decent job at this but it can be done way better. You know theres a problem when Apex is advertised more often in Jaxels fgc livestreams than actual smash events streams >_> We need to use all of our resources to advertise tournaments more than just locally. It doesnt take much work to show a trailer for a tournament, make a graphic to put on stream for a few seconds,or even have the commentators shout them out. Maybe even a segment in streams where commentators take a few minute and let viewers know about other tournaments that are upcoming to look out for, even if they dont attend the tourney itll atleast bring in a few extra viewers for the stream. We really need to work together,Smash can only be taken so far as the people in the community want it to imo. You cant expect a grassroots things to grow if not even the community fully supports it.

What do you guys think we can do help keep smash alive??

As you said nothing much has changed, it'll probably remain that way until the SSB4 reboot. The Brawl community is just... no.

Excluding the Japanese smashers.

It has potential, we just havent done much with it as you said. There are a lot worse games that get more love than smash

I honestly believe if we didn't have so many *******s in this community people would show up more to tourneys. A lot of TOs themselves are ****s, a lot of players are ****s, a lot of commentators are ****s.

Average skilled potfillers always would show up to Brawl tourneys, then they learned there are *******s in the community who turned essentially a party game into a representation of who is better as a human being when that's not what it is. The only people who could deal with that kinda attitude towards this game are people who shared it, so more and more you find people not wanting to play because of many people's attitudes in this community.

Just look at all the trolls on this site...

I just don't think some TOs are taking the right approach. The impact and uprise series on the other hand....
