If someone beats you badly or in a close match.....DO NOT find them again for a rematch.
I learned this the hard way.I play SSFIV on PS3 today and get busy. Win 8 matches in a row and the 9th one comes. I play a Ryu and everything is going good. It's actually a very good match! Then LAG sets in and I winded up losing the whole thing due to delay in command. I find the dude again (unconsciously knowing he STILL HAS LAG) and what do you know!! I lost again -_-
So now I'm pissed off about losing to him and get to fighting Gouken. Dis guy literally reads me like a freakin Hunger Games book. I try to rush in, Hadouken in my face. Try to get in with Chicken Wing, Hadouken in my face. I try to just Regular jump.....Hadouken in my face to where now I am mad at the game and my playstyle is all screwed up. I lost that match too.....
Then I fight a rose main. All she did was jump back n shoot. I punished of course like I normally do. She is a good distance away for me to jump over her shot and kick her, but Boom she hits her ultra 1. My kick is negated and I die. Happens in the 2nd round too. I later fought her again on accident and the same thing happens all over again. I lose 2 matches to her.
Fought an Akuma. I pretty much owned him the 1st round and he just opens up and straight demolish me. another match lost again.
Alltogether I probably lost more than I won. U know I'm not a quitter, so I kept goin on and on until I felt comfortable with myself.......it was 45 minutes to 1 hour after I lost the 1st time before I cut the PS3 off :/
Even a Bison quit in the final match of "Best out of 5" which ticked me off and altered my later matches
Moral of the story: "Don't let your pride get in the way of you taking a break. Even the best players stop after a while."
I did get to beat some high ranked BP people though. BP or PP idk I can't remember lol
