Team Rocket earned nearly all of Ash's Kanto badges

If you recall, Team Rocket barges in in a lot of Ash's gym battles. Ash saves the gym/Pokemon/people/town and the leader rewards Ash with the badge. If not that then Team Rocket interferes and the battle is redone or relocated.

You're right for the most part. I remember way back at the beginning where TR interference with Ash's battle with Erika caused the whole gym to light on fire. When all was done to get rid of the flames, Ekira rewards Ash the Rainbow Badge.

There's another time where Ash's Haunter beat Sabrina's team by just making Sabrina laugh.

Ash seemed to have alot of luck when it comes to beating Gym Leaders. The tables turn whenever he tries to beat the regions' Pokémon Leagues.

He can beat Leaders, but he has yet to beat a League that appears in the games.
