Pick Two That Best Fits You
Street Fighter (and plenty of other games) usually require plenty of skills that a needed in order to play at a high level. After plenty of thought, and a bit of feedback from other players who have been a part of the scene far longer then I have, I have came up with the Skill Triangle. Now you may have seen this triangle around the internet or in business.

It is a very simple triangle and straight to the point. Now lets replace those three options with something more relevant to SSF4: Execution, Fundamentals, and Adaptation. Now we all know playing SSF4 (or any other game that is similar in nature) dives a bit deeper then these three choices, but these are pretty much the three skills a player much try to excel at to play at a high level. But truth be told, not everyone can achieve a feat such as having to be amazing in all three fields. Even the very best of players only truely excel in two of three.

Alright now I want you to pick two of the three skill sets that you think you are the best at, the third one you didn't pick think about what you could do to get better at that skill. icon_biggrin

For myself, I'd have to say Adaptation and Fundamentals are definitely the best. Execution really just takes time and effort.

Reminds me of "Welcome to college, Friends, Sleep, and School. Pick Two"

I'd have to go with execution and fundamentals.... though i'm not too sure i haven't tried to do any fancy focus cancel combos... i think i should shoot for what super has, i can execute everything i want but it's nothing special. Adapting would be far more useful

yeah the triangle is a pretty popular concept

I think I am fundamentals and execution. Kinda set in my rush down ways, don't like to sit and think about what to do.

should i define each one?

I'd say...Fundamentals and...maybe Adaptation.
I think my execution is quite awful.

Definitely execution and adaptation for me. I play way too many fighting games to not be good at either of those. It takes me a while to adapt though. I think I can improve on adapting by focusing and paying more attention to certain things. The main thing I usually focus on is rushing down, but that doesn't always work of course. If I'm fighting against a grapple character like Zangief for example, all I'd think about is rushing down and not thinking about how risky it could be for me. I need to realize the possibilities and consequences for my actions. That's what I need to improve on.

I am better at Fundamentals and Execution. I am HORRIBLE at adapting. Tagers who adapt are TOO GOOD!
