Stop complaining
When you play on the Wifi Ladder or go to a real tourney, w/ money at a venue, you are voluntarily entering a highly competitive setting.

Yeah so that means:

MetaKnight is gonna nado you
Snake is gonna Tilt you
Falco is gonna blaster you
Diddy is gonna trip you
IC's are gonna grab you
Olimar is gonna send his plant minions to hurt you
Wario is gonna do wario stuff to you
Pika is going to do mean shock things to you
& Marth is gonna swing his sword at you

Chaingrabbers are gonna grab you a lot.
Projectile users are gonna send projectiles at you a lot.
And everybody is gonna camp you, a lot.

(Exceptions prove the rule, as usual)

You are playing to win, right? Well THEY ARE TOO, so do not begrudge them of their tools.

You are willingly joining in this fight. So DEAL.

It's a defensive game so revel in it or play a different game!

Can this be applied to other games.

Especially those that have yet to be released like Marvel vs. Capcom 3?

its just annoying that it costs $20 to enter a tourney to get whorenadoed all day. it wouldn't be a big deal to me if it wasn't so ****ing expensive to get better. its annoying how u need to buy ur experience.
Albert. wrote at 9:55 PM on Jan 17, 2011 :
If you haven't had anybody complain about your playing than you either don't play gay enough or don't have enough experience.

Chris Holmes wrote at 9:56 PM on Jan 17, 2011 :
You know, i've always wondered why it was so expensive lol.

In yugioh, I can pay 5 bucks and get a pack of cards for entering.
Albert. wrote at 9:56 PM on Jan 17, 2011 :
@Private Eye play more seriouslies and MMs

Why don't you just go to a tourney and not enter, but have serious Money Matches with all the heavyweights?

It'll probably be just as good as "random in round 1, get knocked out in a few sets"
Carls493 wrote at 9:58 PM on Jan 17, 2011 :
I just wanna have Mario and Sonic fight each other or together in Brawl. Somehow that's something to complain about, too.

I'm always amused by these blogs. It's like they're trying to convey some sort of deep enlightment in an attempt to make wifi scrubs suddenly have an epiphany about how they've been looking at things the wrong way the whole time.

I'd rather spent my time doing something more realistic and constructive, like teaching my dog to make me breakfast.
Spider Jerusalem wrote at 10:12 PM on Jan 17, 2011 :
I had a dog once. It was really good at making me breakfast.

Only I never was in the mood for Dog Poop in my Shoes.

But still, it was an awesome trick.

MOST of the time venues cost A LOT OF MONEY, because the tournament is pretty much taking up a majority of the store/hotel/venue for the day. I mean just look at pound 5's venue it is available for 24 hours a day and it's huge. If it is a house the venue fee shouldn't be as high.
Also having a small entry fee would be horrible, like a dollar. Just saying 100 people show up for a 1 dollar tournament the top person is only going to get like 60 dollars. which really isn't that great for the following places. Assuming the payouts are 60, 30, 10.
Great blog btw.

I've paid I think $25 or $30 just to enter a checkers tournament before. Smash tourneys tend to cost not so much to enter when it comes to pro gaming.

@ Watkins, I really don't know what you mean, This was not an "enlightenment," this is how I've always felt. And I doubt that this will teach the Wifi-jocks anything. This is meant for tourney-goers and for people that use wifi for tourney-practice.

@BFAA Ryan: I understand what you mean by "what if they're doing this in friendlies" thing... It is really lame if somebody is hard-camping you in friendlies. It's probably happened to all of us lol but I guess it's good practice

In friendlies I just explore options and try new things. (and that's just the Guru-consensus since the days of Smash64)
It's just friendlies so you shouldn't get upset at the gayness, but you should take the relatively stress-free environment of a friendly as a chance to cool off, have fun, and maybe figure out a new frame-trap or set up.
