Just pass one (or all of them). It will give you a beach ball badge for having hit at least one ball. The site is coded so that only people who do not have the first level beach ball badge can pick up random balls. This way, you won't get any more (unless someone happens to throw one to you). That's why you've been picking up all of the loose balls recently.
