double MK is not the problem. MK himself is what makes so many teams unviable.

also MK isn't nearly as good online as he is offline.

there are several teams better than double MK so it makes no sense banning double MK. it would be like banning D3 in singles for destroying bad characters.

banning MK altogether makes sense though since all of the teams better than double MK are MK + other character. There may be a few exceptions involving G&W + bucket gimmick, buuuuuut all in all MK makes just about every non MK team unviable (you need to have MK on your team or you need to be a gimmick team like Lucario + Wario or ZSS + G&W to be successful)

don't understand why double MK would be banned when it's not even the best team (just the easiest really good team)

now MK as a whole? he's an absolute cancer to the doubles metagame... way more than he is to singles.
