You know what they say about Windows releases. Wait for the odd number versions. I don't feel that Metro adds anything helpful to the desktop Windows experience. It doesn't seem condusive to multi-tasking, even if you can run in half or third-sized panels. I will be working in desktop-mode constantly anyway. As long as it remains easy to do that, and everything stays compatible, I welcome improvements to that interface. It doesn't seem like it's the priority, but some things that I've seen so far look kind of neat.
