I haven't been there in quite a while, but I mourn GS. I spent a lot of my adolescence there, and it was a good place. Silly, but good. It will be missed.

ME1 definitely had a better story, and Harbinger was kind of a terrible opponent once you got to late game, but ME2 made each character feel unique and play uniquely, and I actually enjoyed playing it. That, and the cutscenes and dialogue choices felt much more streamlined.
