Of course, some character has to be the best, and people like to play as the best character and should be allowed to competitively. And Match Up ratios matter, of course, but so does knowledge about a Match Up as well, such as thinking, "What can my character do against Meta Knight, how do I avoid his advantages and exploit his disadvantages?", for example, and play accourdingly. Knowledge about a Match Up is something that Meta Knight's opponents generally have to their advantages, because of Meta Knight's frequency in tournaments.
