Dumbfire Joined: Feb 2010	I do full hops and recovery and out of shield stuff and Short hop autocancele't dairs with Tap Jump. The other Short hop stuff and all At's I do with the "Y" button. Don't use X.

work Friendly Joined: Nov 2009	I use y because in melee that's how I do jump cancel grabs. I just pinch the top o.o and also y is closer to the ab buttons, it makes a neat triangle instead of the line of buttons if you use x

I don't play many characters that have useful autocancel in their aerials, but when I play Ganon for lulz and want to frolic about with sh dair spam I use Y. Otherwise on my control scheme Y is set to grab; it feels much more natural than clutching for the Z button. Z, on the other hand, is also jump; makes Lucas' Zap Jump easier to execute. I absolutely despise tap jumping. I can't seem to do any uptilts when tap jump is in effect. Also upairs without using a jump.

It requires much less movement to use Y than X, which requires you to change the position of your thumb a lot more than just pressing X. Quote (originally posted by xzx): I thought you knew better.
