to get the DNS codes from that website you posted do you have to sign up or are the codes just somewhere on the site?

Sorry but you might be dealing with someone VERY stupid here. (I'm not as tech savy as these others)

When you said to type ""ping ***" with *** being the name of a site," what site are we supposed to ping off of? Google? Allisbrawl? Yahoo? My own IP address?

I have a choice between my wireless connection or my Nintendo WiFi USB connector and my ping time seems to be 86 ms no matter what I do. I tried a few sites and it's still 86 ms. I can't get a LAN Adaptor either because there's no place for me to connect it to. I tried deleting some processes but it didn't change anything. Or it may have and it was just pretty minor. I also live out in the country though some I'm not close to any really good or quick routers.

Google is an easy site to you. It's ideal if you have a laptop and put it right next to the wii and ping the IP of the laptop, but if you can't just do google.

And use the router, because it'll give you options to enable port forwarding and turn off firewalls, where you can't do that on the usb adapter.

Any way to get around shield and dodge lag? (I mean, I push the shield button and it happens a half a second later, completely throwing me off and causing me to get pwned.)

Does opening those ports present any possible security problems?

You should also add that, if someone is using a satellite broadband connection , they have NO HOPE of reducing lag. I had one for the last year, and there was no way around it.

satellite can only send, then recieve messages, and can't handle alll the info coming and going between Brawl matches on wifi, like cabled DSL can.

No, there are no security problems cause the Wii can't be hacked. Now, if you opened all those ports on your computers IP, enjoy more Virus's than you can count.

EDIT: Nvm, I figured it out

I'm trying to do all of these steps with the Linksys WRT54G Router, but when I tried doing the connection test on the Wii, I get error code 53132, which means that I'm unable to connect to the internet.

If anyone could help me or walk me through it, I'd be eternally grateful. :D

Oh and my PING is 10.  I know 17 is good, but is 10 even better?
