The first competitive brawl tourney in Fresno! Grand prize for first place singles is guaranteed to be $100 (possibly more depending on turnout) It will definitely be a solid tournament with tough competition so bring your A game.

Date- Saturday May 3rd
Sign ups/friendlies: 10am-11am
Doubles: 11am-1pm
Singles: 1pm-?pm

Entry fee- $5 singles $10 each team ($5 per teammate).

Payout will be $100(or more)/30%/10% of total pot.

Rules:

-3 stock 7 min
-Best 2 out of 3 (3 out of 5 in losers, winners and grand finals)
-no items
-all characters
-advanced slob pick
-one random reset per player per set

Neutral stages- Final Dest, Smashville, Lylat Cruise, Battlefield, Yoshi's Island.

Counter picks- Luigi's Mansion, Battleship Halberd, Delfino Plaza, Norfair, Brinstar, Castle Siege, Frigate Orpheon

JQWST Novice Joined: Jan 2008	Due to the fact that many people will not be able to make it on the 27th, I have decided to move the tournament date to May 3rd. I hope this works out better for everyone.

zelduck Joined: Mar 2008	Yeah we're thinking. It's bound to be sexytimes if we come. A few questions tho, is poke1 banned because... "To the windmill! To the Wall!"? Also, what is "advanced slob pick"? Forgive me if I should know. Lastly, I've always heard "one random reset per player per set" for every tourney I've been to, but idk what that rly means >_> :D Also I love brinstar

JQWST Novice Joined: Jan 2008	yea skyworld is fun but not meant for competitive play lol. Advanced slob pick is basically loser chooses stage, winner chooses character, and then loser chooses character. Random reset is if u dont like the random neutral stage that was picked u can call for a re-do on the random select. Any stages not mentioned in the rules are banned, which means that yes poke1 is banned. I like that i get to make the rules ^^

JQWST Novice Joined: Jan 2008	2nd gets %30 of the pot and 3rd gets 10% btw we need ppl to bring tv's and wii's if u are able to let me know. I have 4tv's/wiis guaranteed so far, I need 3 or 4 more to make this tourney a success.

Cereal Rabbit Spread the Love Joined: Mar 2008	Also another thing... Holy shizzles I live 9 minutes from your place... we should do more games in real life. Lylat should be counterpick and Norfair and Castle Seige should be banned. Lylat isn't exactly flat and it's angled also for that fact that there are 3 adjacent (word usage?) platforms. Eeeh Gimpy made a thread about that. Norfair is focused more on not trying to get lava'd than battling otherwise an almost counterpick. Castle Seige for walk offs and Dedede (Sakurai ;3) chain grab rape.

JQWST Novice Joined: Jan 2008	I actually was very iffy about adding castle siege for a counter pick but it's actually kind of hard to get a chain grab on the walk off part since the statues get in the way and it only lasts for a short period of time. Basically if u face a dedede u should ban castle siege though. The whole idea of a counter pick is that it could give a slight advantage to the player picking it...if u get gimped on a counterpick there's always the 3rd match to be played. I'm actually doing not that many stages compared to most other tournaments. But yea we should definately do some friendlies sometime if u live only 9 min away. I can probably give u a ride to the tourney since i'll be picking up other ppl as well that morning.
