Would sonic be effective? He's so fast that its hard to predict when he's going to run. Then you can try a double bair stage spike. If they dont hit then use the homing attack then spring to safety.
Well, if you're camping on the edge as MK, Sonic is most likely going to run towards your edge at one point or another >_>' Then when he tries to go off the edge, you ledge drop U-air, double jump, and
Also, if you "double[jump?] B-air stage spike" and miss, that leaves you without the ability to side-B> double jump > spring, and Sonic is significantly easier to gimp if he doesn't have double jumps. anyway, trying to HA when the opponent is in clear control of invincibility frames is really dangerous since it doesn't lock on people's invinciblity frames, and, below the stage, can cause you to drop too low for spring to let you recover.
You're better off trying to P-shield > edgehog, and I'm not even sure if that's a viable move.

I'm not Terios, but the fact that the homing stall is still being considered is really sad. All you need to do is double jump and Sonic's Homing Attack won't register, causing him to suicide. If your character doesn't have a good enough double jump, you can just use a nearby platform (and FD's stage size is large enough for pretty much any double jump + up special to work).
It's not like I've done extensive data gathering or anything for Sonic, but if Homing Attack simply rises into a ceiling while it charges, target or not (it's easier to do if you don't cancel the HA's charge), it causes Sonic to follow the ceiling upon release. And without a target, Sonic will bounce off the ceiling and move straight horizontally in the direction
he's facing. And if there's a target in range, then he'll bounce "uncontrollably" (well, predictably) left and right as long as the target is in range. Not like the person being targeted can exploit it and force him closer to the edge of the level for a stage spike or anything like that.
But yeah, I don't really know anything about Sonic, so you can correct me if I'm wrong about any of that.
... you might also want to try it out yourself first.
But seriously, read past the sarcasm and we're still at the same point: Homing Stall isn't exactly a stall because you can kill Sonic out of it. Not necessarily in the way that you described, but in another way, lol.
