Calling a mindgame is definitely stupid. Nothing about planking makes it anything like a mindgame.
If you are someone who is being planked, and don't have a move to take care of it (Snake), you have no options. You -can't- just wait, or you lose. No one with an ounce of intelligence has ever proposed that you wait it out. You can hypothetically attempt to approach, but the point of planking is that you -can't- approach without being damaged or gimped.
In these debates, I have never seen someone for planking, ever propose an argument deeper than "You can't ban it. It doesn't meet banning requirements." Nor have I ever seen one of them propose a logical strategy that can handle planking.
In reality, planking doesn't force approaches at all. If a match starts, on FD, and the Meta immediately runs back to the ledge and begins planking, no matter who his opponent is, they are not forced to approach. At a disadvantage, or at an advantage, the person being planked never has to approach because of the planking. The "strategy" itself is entirely unbeatable at any point in the game, by most characters. Indeed, the only reason people do approach is because they know that it's better to die in a blaze of glory, than to just wait out the eight minutes.
Honestly, without the time limit, would people still infini-plank?
