To be fair the gap of skill between entering the Pro topic and the WR total is much higher than in Brawl, meaning seperate badges would probably be needed.

EDIT: Am I correct in assuming that when an inter player reaches pro, their inter badge will be revoked? And if a pro player becomes the wr ths holder, their pro badge will be revoked, and the old wr ths holder will have his King badge revoked? Naturally, the King badge would have a higher point value than the pro badge, and pro higher than the inter badge, I would think.

I'm not sure where you got that idea from. People don't lose previous beach ball badges as they reach new thresholds, there's separate badges for 5, 10, and 20 tournaments, there's like 5 badges for how many opponents you faced on the ladder, etc. The Stadium badges aren't any different.

tipo: If enough people want me to change pro to 100k in the 1pTT, then I'll do it, then that can be the badge requirement
(again, the two don't HAVE to be the same, but they should be). I'll need a consensus between as many HRCers as possible though. As 1221 pointed out, 90k is already harder than 3:30 BtT, and is also harder than most if not all pro requirements in all the other modes too. So I still see no reason to increase it further.

EDIT: If pro in Melee is going to be changed to 100k, then pro in Brawl should be AT LEAST 130k+ imo.

ND1189: Mmkay, I guess I was mistaken then...

I think 3:30 in btt is harder... but then again... I suck at btt

Anyways one badge at 90k and one at 110k seems a good idea to me.

Pro in Brawl already is 130k actually (it was agreed upon with pretty much no opposition). Could someone try to get in touch with SW for his opinion on our MMM thresholds?

if you ask me, i think pro should be sometinh really prestigious...like only people in the top 10 of any given game should get that title...or else it's just an empty title...

so make the badge for the top 10 or 15 or whatever...this will also help out with the limit questions...(IE: what if the pro limit is 130k now, but new metagame increases it to 140k? should i lose the badge?)

you could just make a badge for at one point being top 10

Wtf

Top 10 what? In the world? On the site?

That's what the "Legend" and/or "Master" ranks are for in my 1pTT. There aren't enough of them in each mode to deserve separate badges though.

And what makes it an "empty title"?

Top 10 or 15 what? At AiB? In the world? Top 10/15 doesn't need a badge. Again, I think 3 badges for each mode is PLENTY. In some modes, you can have a really crappy total and still be top 10 or 15.

If pro is decided at 130k, and the metagame increases to 140k, than anyone with less than 140k should lose the badge imo.

I pretty much agree with Treklinks MMM proposals, maybe set inter 3MM a little bit higher .... like 3750, but the rest should be fine.

what about event badges for melee (and brawl) ?^^

I wouldn't be adverse to setting 3MM inter to 3750. That's 150 KOs per character on average, which I think is reasonable. If I did that, I'd probably increase advanced to 4250 KOs or something.

SW: It's my understanding that since totals for Melee Event Matches are calculated (and I believe they are for Brawl too), gathering proof for the badge will be too difficult, and therefore we aren't doing them. Same for Melee Training Mode, sadly. icon_sad

Actually I may reconsider my position on Event badges, well at least for the "King" badge. If someone has a WR total, that person should be making videos anyway and should have no problem making a video running down the entire score screen.

And thanks for the input SW. I'll get in touch with the higher-ups about the new badges next time I see them on AIM.

Ok, thresholds are pretty much settled. Now we need names. I don't want to use "[mode name] inter" because "inter" is pretty meaningless to most people on the site and also it's kind of lame sounding. "[mode name] pro" is a lot clearer though, so maybe that's ok. Maybe inter can be changed to "apprentice"? Any other suggestions?

In retrospect I actually do like "[mode name] apprentice." It ends up meaning the same thing as "[mode name] player" but sounds catchier. I think all the work is done then, so I'll keep an eye out to see when the admins go onto AIM.
