My girlfriend bought me this goofy book "The Enlightened Bracketologist: the Final Four of Everything" which is a collection of writers who group some collection of objects/ideas/themes into a bracket and then give reasons why each item wins certain matchups until they've found the ultimate ______ for that bracket. An example is for fruits, where peaches beat out strawberries in the final round. It's silly.

Anyways, we's a gonna do something similar for breakfast foods. We'll pick 16 (or 32 if we can find that many) breakfast foods, randomly seed them into a bracket, and then vote on each matchup to find our overall favorite breakfast food. It'll be fun! [possibly...]

Oh man...this is so tough, but in the end...I'm going to have to vote for Bacon.

...Cereal is good and all, but it is the poor man's Bacon. Cereal is classic and will never be replaced, but when you hear that there is going to be Bacon for breakfast, I know that your heart skips a beat...(and not just from the cholesterol...)

Cereal is too common place to contend with Bacon's fatty might.

Though bacon is better tasting, cereal is still pretty good since it takes only a minute or so to prepare. Also, if you use a lot of milk, you can drink the remains after you're done, thus eliminating the need to dirty and prepare a glass. And usually you wouldn't have bacon alone, you would have it with something else, like eggs. I don't do my own grocery shopping but I would assume that cereal is cheaper, and it can still be very good tasting (enough to compete with bacon at least) if you pick the right kind, which brings me to my next point: you can choose which type of cereal you want, allowing everyone to enjoy cereal to the fullest.

Rigged, I want Double Elim Pancakes coulda pulled a mango at Pound 3. P.S Bacon just spams top tier, Cereal is more diverse and well rounded.

Canadian Bacon, Mexican Bacon, Smoked Bacon, American Bacon ...Bacon has TONS of diversity.  maybe it's not as diverse as cereal, but I mean if you've eaten lucky charms, you've eaten fruity pebbles, which is eating Trix.
