Importing non-SSBB models into BrawlBox finally reailty!

This is Shaymin's PokéPark Wii model. However, it required some hexing in order to do this. If you want to know how to do this, follow the guide-ish wall of text below. (NOTE THAT YOU WILL NEED A HEX EDITOR!)

Following this image, delete the bytes in red, and where the blue square is, insert twelve bytes with the value of "FF".

Then following this image, if the two highlighted bytes don't match, alter the TOP (NOT THE BOTTOM) highlighted byte to be the same as the bottom.

NOTE: I take NO credit in accomplishing this feat; it goes to RandomTBush and Apocolypse3000 at SWF! (Those pics are also RandomTBush's, by the way!)

we figured out animations XD they're jsut a pain in the *** at the moment. waiting for an intuitive animation maker rather then doing it frame by frame with the number organizer in brawlBox though. that would be wayyyyyy better.

Apparently, the models need some further hexing before they completely work, and even so, they're still kinda buggy. RandomTBush hexed my Moonview Highway stage for me, but it came out like this:

First of all, the in-game model doesn't really match BrawlBox's.

And there's this graphical glitch that'll occasionally happen...

Not to mention it only works with a select amount of characters.

When unhexed, though, BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP...

But at least we're getting somewhere!

Out of curiosity, could this ability be used to directly import the character models for Mewtwo, Roy, etc from Melee?

^ It should be, since Gamecube games' models aren't drastically different from Wii games'. Same even applies to some DS games. However, the same stumbling point with the MKWii models would still be present, until it's fixed.

Would making a giant(like temple x 30) stage be possible?

It would be like a world, not just a stage.

I bet Roy will be the first non-SSBB fully playable character.

That should be possible with the help of BrawlWall.

...I should probably try something like that this weekend. XD

Actually, I think it's probably either gonna be Bowser Jr. or Zero.

I'd think Roy would be easier.

Swap him for Marth, with a very similar moveset. Use the already available hacks for Roy's moves. Swap the sound effects. It shouldn't be relatively easy.

And could you use this to insert, say, N64 stages?

^True. A Roy moveset is already floating around, so why not work on Roy? Work on Zero, Blaziken, and Bowser Jr. seem to be showing up, though.

And I dunno if taking the actual N64 stages is possible, but if it isn't, it is just as possible to recreate them from scratch. I've actually seen stage hacks for Sector Z, Kongo Jungle, and Hyrule Castle (though KJ and HC are 2D-ish renditions).

Pics:

(Couldn't find one for Kongo Jungle, sorry, but I do have the DL link it and Hyrule Castle, if anyone wants it PM'd to them.)

None of these are, mine, by the way.

I found where the SSB64 Stages were. (on Smashboards)

I'm pretty sure the Hyrule one can be re-textured, especially if there are SSB64 textures available.

EDIT: There's a flaw with the shading of Hyrule castle. The sun is positioned on the right, but it's shaded as if the sun's on the left.
