Can low tiers be competitive?
I would like everyones opinion on this topic, so feel free to post.

Personally, I believe they are a bit too, out of the league to compete. At a high level of play, sure! At M2K, Ally, ADHD level... I don't think so. In saying this, I think it is way more fun to play with low tiers, which is why I would like too advertise this: http://allisbrawl.com/group.aspx?id=11883 It is a petition for a low tier ladder for people who just want to have fun.

Either way, I would still like to know everyones personal opinion if they can make it.

Its a nice idea.
But, I love using low tiers in the normal ladder!

Playing against an MK with my Ganon is just too epic.
I get raped (lol -Lzr-), but its fun. The only bad thing is wifi scrub Snakes/MK's, but there isn't more thats annoying me lol.

Its the challenge of defeating people with low tiers, and the fact that you are playing a game where those characters are in, you can't hide from the truth.
'Low tiers are more fun to play indeed, I will agree with that. But people have different opinions. It can also be fun to play Snake, for example. The strategic asset to it can also be cool. It can be fun to play Diddy, screwing around with Banan's. Just saying.

Still love mah Ganon.

Low Tiers can be competitive you just have to be mad good.

Most people I see that are good with Low Tiers are trying to prove a point. I think Yoshi can move up. I love watching them and they seem to have something going on. Only if his projectile wasn't so easily PS'd.

I thought you knew better. You're a MK main after all. I know more about MK than you, lol. SL actually gives that knockback, you can't DI upwards. It gives that gay knockback. Have you ever got hit by that? In that case, the Wario couldn't DI, because it gives that kind of knockback. Facepalm at you, -LzR-.

Trust me, a low tier ladder wouldn't change much. Ike is like the MK of the low tier. You would be seeing a lot of ike's instead then.

I must be dyslexic, because you couldn't have just called Ike the "MK of Low Tier".

As MK is overused all over the place, so would Ike when it comes to low tier tournaments. People will always try to go for the highest placed tier person or close to it.

Ike isn't the mk of low tiers lol, he sucks, he's probably 4th worst or something. He a bit overused only because he's the easiest to play.

And I don't think we really need a low tier ladder, anyway I think Brawl's low tiers got a pretty advanced game, mostly because mostly because there a lot of players who appreciate their low tier main, and they are trying pretty hard to make them out of low tier, and they actually got pretty solid placings in tourneys.

A low tier ladder would be interesting.
The 10 or so good Zelda mains that hide behind the hoardes of smash spamming ones would love this.

Honestly, I agree with Doomfire. Opinions differ from smasher to smasher.

Ike is top-tier in LT, but he's not MK material. For him to be MK status in LT, that would require him to have no bad MUs. Ike has Samus, Mario, and (if legal) Ness, which are all either 60:40 or 55:45 in the opponent's favor. Ike is incredibly good, and yes he's overused, but he's not "easy to use" or anything of that matter. No character in this game is easy to use, tbh.

Bullsh*t he's easy to use. There are MUs where it's easier to perform at a above-average level, but D3 has tons of annoying fights that you need to be on top of your game to win. Matches that come to mind are: Falco, Olimar, MK, Wario, Marth, etc. Just because he has an easy-to-use CG, and just because his playstyle is rather... linear, it doesn't equate that the character is easy to master. Check out Coney or CO18's fights and you'll definitely see how much they struggle throughout their matches.

i can think of about ten low tier characters that are better than ike.

but D3 definitely is not easy to use. the only character that is easy to use at mid level play is MK

Well, most people don't know the low-tiers MUs, since they don't even care,
If you found someone like that, you'll rape. icon_wink

I think low-tiers could be competitive because they have many surprises that people don't reconize
