I can make the clock look a big sharper I got tired of fooling around with gradient.

Working on some new things this week.

These are pretty good. The tournaments especially is the best ive seen yet. Players I am on the fence onto whether I like this one or the one Revenant previously had as the best. That might just be a situation where we throw them both into the program and see what looks the sharpest.

I have been thinking about something that would be universally applicable for stations and I had a couple ideas. The first one is just a squarish/rectangle type shape. Its something that when I think about a tennis court, a table, a tv, even gaming system/computer tower, the shape fits. It might be the closest we can get to something that fits all.

The other idea I had for stations (or potentially events) was this sort line dot structure with a bunch of lines branching off this starting point (symbolic of TO without saying so). Check out this image at the bottom, its actually what made me think it could work.

What if we had a TV with a tennis court in it? I think it's possible to size down the tennis court enough to make it fit while still being able to actually make out that it is a tennis court.

Revenant's idea isn't bad.

However, I think it might be best just to keep it simple, like a tv icon with antennas.
One of my first ideas was a radio tuner, with different 'station' numbers, but it looked bad on the icon.
Anyhow, I'm not much when it comes to originality, so that's the only thought I have concerning this particular icon.

The problem is even a Tennis Court with TV leaves out a lot of real world applications for the program. Be it poker, ping pong, hockey, a lan tower, magic the gathering, and so on. Thats why we really need something broad. But I am open to ideas as to what that is. Like i said previously the rectangle/dot shape was the best i could come up with.

Why not make it something like two people arm wrestling, since a station is the place where the game happens, maybe showing something like that, where two people are competing may be universally accepted.

It seems like it could work.

This also would make a lot of sense for "Event" given all events are going to consist of people competing. Anyone want to take a crack at this in the 40x40?

I just thought I'd give this one a stab. Maybe this needs some fresh blood.

The rationale on the Stations Icon is: baseball is representing sports, controller is representing gaming, and the spade is representing other types of possible games.

Great job, Spellman.

Honestly, Spellman might as well take care of anything icon related.

More like we need to learn from his great example.

Spellman for ****ing president! Seriously though, looks great. Could you take a crack at redoing the "Events" in some sort of blue/green color as opposed to purple though? Perhaps the guy in me just hates purple, but I am just not crazy about it.

Ok, so just got done talking with Neal and pluging some of these into the application and all that.

And the consensus was we actually preferred hard icons with no background/gradient. In addition, we really liked the sort of clean iconic look of the Globe you can see in the first page that Neal posted as an example, and the Internet Tournament you (Spellman) posted in the other thread (Of which Neal says it looks very Windowsish, so we obviously can be ripping any of these from Microsoft, and if you did not Neal says its a compliment). 

So we were thinking maybe you could take a crack at making the Globe and Golf Hole for events (we would pick the best looking of the two after trying it), players, and stations (which we love the idea) more that way. You can keep your concepts (two players, controller/cards/baseball, golf hole) just make them better fit the globe/internet tournament style. And we already were thinking the Internet Tournament Icon you made looks great and we could use that as the "Tournaments" Icon as is.
