No text is usually better, to me its ok but your leaving alot of empty space at the right

Interesting choice of colors.

Too much negative space, even with the text. Add some more effects on the right side. Don't fancy up the text too much either.

Otherwise I like the idea.

I was curious as to people would rate my pikachu sig, but i noticed some flaws. So i'm not gonna post it here.
Can someone rate this one please.

I prefer not to rate art of any sort. It just shouldn't be done. 

Anyways.

What's good about it?

The focal stands out. It is easy to find right away. The blur is kinda nice. The colors are somewhat tasteful, not too wild or overdone.

What's bad about it?

You should never under any circumstance use a cheap bevel in your signatures, especially on the whole thing. You're better off just forgetting that your software even has a bevel feature.

The next thing is the text. It's not doing anything to help your focal or the overall composition. Getting good control of typography takes practice. It's definitely not impossible to have text that looks good on that sig.

The background is kinda bland. Though, it does add something to the sig. It makes it look like his mind is moving in a constant flow of thought.

It's also a bit darker than it should. You might need to calibrate your monitor.



If you want to get better, just look at good art or signatures and get inspiration off of them. Practice also helps a lot.

Oh! Don't use photobucket. I don't like it. It ruins colors.

No it doesn't. Unless you work in Adobe RGB or some other color space that isn't sRGB. Or if it's a JPG, photobucket might compress it, but that isn't the case since he's using PNG.

oh wow thanks octane. i use gimp btw, and i never added a beavel anything unless you mean that border i made manually.. unlike photoshop people who can use a single button.

P. sure gimp has a bevel feature.

CS5 has sooo many features on it.... you could get lost for days. And come out... unshaven naked and violated by a million filters.

It's quite the thrilling experience!

A new sig I just worked on

Stay awau from filters and over sharpening.

You might want to consider using smaller dimensions. Small is beautiful, after all.

The effects on lighting are awesome. The background is very very very tacky. The main problem I see is the render choice and placement.. The sword has to go it doesn't help create flow in any way.
