Oh right, that would be a sudden turnaround.

...also, the Jets' offense seems to be stumbling in the preseason. Yeh, it's the preseason, but it's kind of the evidence of things to come. Schottenheimer is really gonna have to get creative if Mark Sanchez can't get it done (which I assume he can't).

Yeh, Jets and Ravens need their QBs to get it done. If they can't do it, then don't bother.

I'm curious to know how the Chargers go 11-5. Unless you're assuming they get Marcus McNeil, and Vincent Jackson back.

Jackson's gone, McNeil might be coming back though.

the giants d was tossed around cause bill sheridan doesn't know what the **** he was doing at a coordinator

we got perry fewell, remember the bills pass defense last year (it was ranked like 3rd in the league), now imagine perry fewell coaching a more talented team, we got ourselves a beastly defense

You guys also have Antrel Rolle which is a nice addition. One of the new york teams if not both is going to have a good season. When Dallas opened up their new stadium they had a good season. Two years after Arizona got their new stadium they got to the Super Bowl. Trend possibly?

This. I hope the Jets do worse than the Giants so I can stop hearing all this **** about a superbowl. We all know Mark Sanchez sucks *** and we all know they lost their star running back. Looking at preseason, I am starting to have questions about their offense too. I really hope to god that they fail so hard. Their Defense is STACKED though. They may not need a great offense to get to the superbowl.

Can't say for Dallas, but the Cards' Super Bowl run was a magical ride led by a magical guy named Kurt Warner.

Jets: Using the Ravens' philosophies because the Ravens can't do it anymore.

Wore my Vikings hat to work yesterday. People flipped. So today, I wore my Peterson jersey with my hat. People were sooo mad. Probably gonna wear my Jared Allen jersey tomorrow. In other news, I just realized every offense in the AFC North is average at best.

Johnson, and Owens are far far past their prime. Palmer has looked like an average-slightly above average QB since his injury. Just looking at the other divisions makes the AFC North look pretty meh.

Also, I work with a bunch of hick Steelers fans. If the Steelers aren't your one and only team, they despise you.

You're right, they're probably not at the level they once were, but the two are still very, very good receivers and compliment each other quite well. Despite being almost 37, Owens still beats defensive backs 2/3 of his age and Chad isn't nearly that old yet. Both take very good care of themselves, I wouldn't be surprised to see if both play until they're 40.

As for Palmer, he actually got better after his leg injury, but the rest of the team didn't do **** for him. After his elbow injury, his pass-first offense got turned into a run-first offense because the OLine was completely new, 2005's receiving corps was essentially gone by the end of the year other than Chad, both the top two TEs got injured, and his thumb was gimpy. Throw in Bratwurst's easily predictable playcalling and you had one hell of a pathetic offense.

All of those factors heavily impact a QB's numbers. This year, with all the new receivers and the hopefully improved OLine (Brat's opening up the playbook more too), I'd expect Palmer to be north of the 3500 yard mark.

Their offenisve coordinator's name is Bratwurst..? That's awesome. Speaking of bad offensive coordinators, every Steeler fan across the world hates Bruce Arians. Not sure why he still has a job.

Bob Bratkowski, aka bratwurst. Not sure why he has a job either.

Oh, we're talking about playoff predictions now.

With the AFC, you have the two obvious division winners in Indianapolis and San Diego. Indianapolis is really the only team that I even remotely worry about on the Bengals' roster this year because their offense is that good. While I think that both offense can and should keep up with both defenses, it's going to be close and Peyton Manning is just that good and has just that good of talent surrounding him. San Diego is just in a division too weak to compete, even with all the backwards steps it took this offseason.

That leaves the North and the East, two very good divisions in football. Both have three playoff contenders within the division. Miami has taken great steps forward. That defense has improved, even though they let go of Jason Taylor. That offense has really improved by signing Marshall. I wouldn't be surprised if they were a dark horse for the division winner this season. The Patriots have a decent defense and a great offense. The Jets have a great defense and an average offense (what's the point of adding all these pieces if Mark Sanchez is failing to use them?). It's going to be a close division.

The North has Cincinnati, whose defense has taken steps forward and whose offense has taken strides. This team is Super Bowl-ready. Baltimore has improved as well but they will only go as far as Flacco takes them. The Steelers' defense needs to cover them in the first four weeks until Ben returns before they can come back.

Other wild card possibilities include the Texans and the Raiders. Both teams have made significant steps. It should be a good year.

That being your victors for week one?

Damn, you love sleeping on my team, don't you. Both of 'em.

Both... I'm not sleeping on the Bengals. They improved which, to me, is scary. But that game is really tough to pick. Really tough. Expect me to change my mind a couple times this week before the season opener.

Gotcha.

And yeh, that Bengals team has really improved while the Patriots lost Bodden for the season. Even Brady might struggle against that secondary and Palmer has the tools to win in a shootout. It'll be a close game, good one to watch.

As for the Lions, sure, they have a mediocre secondary, but simultaneously, they have an amazing DLine, one of the NFL's best, and that Bears OLine is absolutely horrible. Throw in Martz' love for the deep ball and you'll see a lot of sacks on Cutler this year. The Lions also seem to have built a really high-powered offense as well.

To be honest, I wanted to put the Lions because I think Stafford will improve. Also Cutler has some questions. I just have a feeling that they will win, but I was worried about people flaming for no reason >.>. Also don't expect the Packers game to be a blowout. I will always say the Eagles will win because they are my team (I know its not smart but i don't care). Eagles have an improved defense this year. The one worry I have about our team is the lack of protection Kolb is getting from the middle. I can see why you would pick the packers but I have too much pride to say the packers will win. Also everyone is saying the Packers are going to the superbowl, but those picks never stand up. For that reason alone the Pack will not go to the superbowl.

The Pack has one helluva offense, but I'm not one to bother with solid predictions like "this team is going to the Super Bowl." They're good, good enough to win the division if they can outplay the Vikes, but will it happen? That second place rating they got last season seems more of a mask than the actual truth of their defense.

As for the Eagles game, that defense has holes, especially against the pass. Kolb needs to use this to his advantage if he wants to win.

And the Lions have improved. You're daft (or a Bears fan, there's no difference) if you don't believe it.

I question the Titans Raiders game. Yeh, standard thinking is "Raiders sux, al davis horrid owner, dey gon lose," but these aren't the standard Raiders. They're actually looking good and could be a dark horse in the AFC West late in the season. I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up with a Wild Card. If they can limit Chris Johnson or even shut him down, they should win.

I'm surprised you gave the Rams the win over the Cards. Honestly, they're not looking good but they should still be better than last year's last-place team.

....woah woah woah woah woah. Baltimore over the Jets? Explain this one.

Rams is a surprise pick but they have just looked better than the Cardinals. Cardinals were planning on Matt Leinart starting, but that didn't pan out. Rams have momentum and Cardinals don't. It just seems the NFL is all about momentum. I picked Ravens over the Jets simply because of the fact that Mark Sanchez is just... not good. One of the Ravens' weakness is the secondary. However i don't think that Sanchez can do anything.
