I was looking at my profile, and i'm online, but it says i'm offline.

I would like to know why this is happening.

Did you specifically log out when you went offline, or did you just close the browser? If you did the latter, then that would explain why (web sites can't tell the difference between someone who's idle and someone who is just sitting there reading a lengthy post or whatever).
