I don't doubt that. So would M2K. Would you listen to
his opinion about what the ruleset should look like?

GAY is correct (and also a fairly decent player)
you make crazy as **** arguments a lot about **** almost everyone hates, and you try to shove YOUR definition of competitive down everyone's throats
shut the **** up sometimes; we don't want it spammed at us all day and all night in big walls of text filled with you crying about people not listening to you
I hate to bring this attitude, but I'm right and you're wrong. You haven't even tried arguing; you've simply said "why listen to that german scrub". And you know what? I've got a reason why you should listen to "that german scrub". Because for some insane reason, other people are starting to take me seriously. I know, right? It's insane! All I've done is provide reasonable argumentative logic, time after time, and people are
listening to me! Prove me wrong and I'm out of your hair. Keep saying "lol scrub" and wait until you belong to that lonely crowd of people completely ignoring me, next to Xyro and Darknid, and the rest of the smash community starts picking up on these ideas. Sound like I'm placing myself too high? Have you
seen the SWF discussion thread for the unity ruleset? I don't hold much influence on my own, but in all of the smart people in the smash community,
some people do. And they're listening to me.
Furthermore, "my definition"? "Crazy as ****"? Let's clear some things up here.
IT IS NOT CRAZY AS **** TO SAY THAT SOMETHING SHOULD BE PROVEN BROKEN BEFORE IT IS BANNED. That is the single most retarded thing I have ever heard. I thought Sirlin cleared this up ages ago. I'm sorry, but I happen to be the kind of person who waits to see if a strategy can be beaten before I go and start banning ****. For some reason, I'm not alone, and you know what? I'm likely to trust the regions who
have PTAD legal and play on it regularly with no problems whatsoever to the regions that
never play it. Same with Japes, Norfair, and any other stage. Norfair... K, we got texas saying "this stage is kinda gay with wario". And then we have MLG, where the stage was rarely banned, rarely picked, and not really proven to be that retarded... And then we have Atlantic North
showing off their incredible knowledge of stages and I feel more and more disinclined to trust them on, well,
anything. The commentary alone is enough to make me cringe, and it makes me understand why AN has the most conservative stagelists:
they suck at stages. And by they I include you.
And then you call my definition of competitive gaming crazy? I hate to break it to ya, but it's completely logically derived from
one axiom. One axiom that every competitive game has followed and most game designers have as a mantra: "Depth -> competitiveness". Reject this, and you have completely senseless results such as my classic example, Chess being as competitive as Tic Tac Toe. This has basically been the very guidelines of competitive gaming since the antiquity. It's
not my definition.
And you know why I shove it down everyone's throat? Because I enjoy being right. I like it when the game becomes more competitive more than my own comfort. I prefer sensible solutions to ANs steady march towards Japan. I think that if I was wrong, someone probably would've said something
slightly more convincing than "shut up, we don't care". Because people do care, are caring.
