We are a week out from one of MA's newest & largest tournament series around. Come by this Saturday, Oct. 8 at 4:15 pm for a nice time with tons of people and free food...

VENUE RULES - I AM STRICTLY ENFORCING THEM, NO EXCEPTIONS!

- rude behavior and bad sportsmanship will NOT BE TOLERATED, as well as constant or loud vulgarity.. DQ's are imminent for such behavior (kids shop/play there a lot too).

- BYOC... or plan on buying one in store if you do not have one.. the store tried loaning last time and too many people stole them....

- No food in front most TV area (drinks are ok, but clean up after yourself). Don't leave anything you wouldn't want broken/stolen unattended either. It's going to be crowded so plan accordingly.

- Once the venue's bracelets are on your wrist, DO NOT REMOVE THEM UNLESS YOU PLAN ON NOT RETURNING to the event.. Absolutely no exceptions.

- do not crowd areas of the store where shoppers need to look at merchandise.. THERE ARE DESIGNATED AREAS TO EAT AND CHILL icon_smile

and the side entrance will be open to allow people to get some fresh air and chill outside..

So Fatal Friendly Joined: Jun 2008	the 24th is taken. Also, charging a 10 dollar venue fee would be okay if we could get the venue ALL day and have as much space as we want. We can't have that so it should stay at 5.

GTZ - AIB Host Joined: Oct 2010	Ok, so what day isn't taken? I'm thinking Oct. 8.. it's a staurday... I need to know what's going on in advance because the venue itself hosts halo, cod, ssf4, mk, and all sorts of other tournaments, so I have to work around their schedule as well as this community's... so I need suggestions asap if this is going to pan out the right way... please remember that this venue is a business and the store layout doesnt favor an all day event.. I am working closely with the store manager Jake to help figure out how we are going to furnish this event, and we are also buying GOOD condition copies of smash brawl, which is harder to come by because you cannot resurface those discs with the machine... ... As for the venue fee, I have convinced the store to start purchasing CRT TV's and wii's to run more setups for this tournament, as well as try to fix the space issue that was seen last time. We will try to accommodate all suggestions and such, I just wanted to clarify why the venue fee was changed. The systems and TVs cost money, as well as the employees that are being paid to run the event.

HoboErikwithaK Spread the Love Joined: Apr 2010	The only scheduled NE tourney in September is the 17th, and Fatal said the 24th is taken. So any other weekend in September looks fine. I'm cool with the double venue if it means the overall tourney experience will be more enjoyable.

So Fatal Friendly Joined: Jun 2008	People can bring systems and TV's. No need to purchase them. Also, you don't need 5-7 employees there to run the tournament. You need a max of 2 plus you. Min wage 3 employees for 7 hours = 144 bucks. I don't mind the change but it might scare others away.
