At the end of the day:

Who cares if someone's gay? I never understood why people care about someone's sexuality- some even thinking that a homosexual may hit on them (them, being straight).

That just shows they are insecure. All you have to do is shake your head and say "Not interested, thanks." and move on. Not flip out and jump on a chair and scream like you seen a mouse in your kitchen (and I'm saying that figuratively).

As for coming out, I don't like that. I don't like advertising my sexuality because to be honest, it's unnecessary to tell my friends and the like. If they were to ask me if I was bisexual, I would say yes, but I may be a bit reluctant because then that would probably issue a discussion I really don't want to discuss (let's talk about Smash Bros!).

But outside of AllisBrawl, I don't share my sexuality because I see no purpose other than drama with individuals and I'm not into that bs.... And other reasons.

Let me reintroduce myself. I had about 15 pages of post a bit back, but I don't think many of the old posters are here, so I'll show my stance.

1. I am a Christian. Feel free to bash me for believing the same religous theories as great scientists of the ast such as Issac Newton or Pascal. The Bible definitivley state the being homosexual is not the sin, homosexual sex is. It is in several places, not just Leviticus. If you want me to defend the Bible, I shouls do so in the relgious topic.

2. That said, not everybody is Christian, so I do not use Biblical arguments against homosexual sex. This would be pointless.

3. Homosexual sex is a "victomless crime." That means that it is a consensual choice that harms nobody but the practitioners, just like smoking. I am at an odd position where I cannot feel fully correct banning this for that reason. Thus, I do not believe in making homosexual relations a crime, but educating people on the risks.

4. The medical dangers of homosexual sex are real. I have medical sources proving such. They are a ways back, but I can provide them if needed.

Let's see if we can discuss this intelligently.

I'm just going to point out that regardless of who believes what you believe, it will not give your religion credence. Most of the great mathematicians, philosophers, and scientists of antiquity were pagans or muslims; this does not led any credence to that. When it comes to religion, logic and science tend to take a very serious back seat. Case in point: Pascal's infamous wager, which has been proven to be faulty both in every last one of its premises as well as its conclusions. Or that Newton also believed in the Philosopher's Stone and Alchemy. It doesn't matter in the slightest.

The medical dangers of homosexual sex are, for the most part, the same as with heterosexual sex. Anal? Heteros do it too, and it carries exactly the same risk of STD transmission there as it does for homosexuals. The high rates of infection have less to do with them being gay and more to do with gays being, in general, fairly promiscuous. Just sayin'.

I've been raised on the Bible and researched it on my own for a few years now, along with a couple other religious texts. And I call bull**** on this.

Please supply proof if you want this point to stand. I know nothing of what you're claiming.

Grey, I think pluknitsua is saying that what is considered sinful in the Bible is homosexual behavior, not a homosexual orientation, per se. This is a point that can be argued biblically one way or another. I'm pretty sympathetic to the view myself. Sexual orientations are a pretty modern classification that the ancients didn't seem to have a concept of. And what you find the Bible condemning does seem to be homosexual actions:

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.  26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error (Romans 1:24-27).

Again one could argue that the character or habit of desiring homosexual activity is also being condemned here, and that may be true. But even so, this would be a character that was formed through the willful decisions made by the agent, albeit with circumstantial influences. This is different from the modern concept of a homosexual orientation, which says that a person is homosexual by nature or from birth.

I thought about this, but then I remembered that Michael... I mean, Michelle Bachmann cleaned her husband of The Gay. And he's still alive. Clearly there must be some magic crystal or routine out there that purifies ones' self. Right?
