Of course. Bootmii has nothing to do with any kind of Brawl modification. Bootmii is a seperate hack all together.

I updated to 4.3E when I got dkcr and since It's not so often I hack now I took the risk. But now a friend want me to help them get hacked stages in nsmbw through riivolution. My riivolution is still on my wii since I installed it before 4.3, but since they doesn't have it I don't know how to install it. Before I could just use bannerbomb (bbv3, is that you?), or just take it from hbc. I won't buy a whole new game (indiana) to get hbc and ssbb is only for ntsc.
So I don't need hbc, only riivolution. Any suggestions? (Yes, I have read the topic, didn't find anything helpful)

What menu version do you have?

I got an idea here guys. Since some guys have managed to get a working hbc, shouldn't it be possible to move that data to an sd card, copy it from a computer, and share it with others? 'Cause the wii can't delete channels in the sd card, right?
If that isn't working I guess I have to wait for another version of bb or a game solution from a game I have (I have ssbb, but not any of the ntsc versions)

The wii requires a special key that corresponds to a channel before booting it up.

What happens if you receive a custom stage from a friend or smash server after installing the homebrew channel? Will it affect the system in any way?

This is a great guide, btw. Simple to read even for dummies like me. I'm was just lucky I had 4.2, so bannerbomb was still working for me.

Anywho, I just have two or three questions. Sorry if there a little noobish...

1. Does Gecko OS allow you to override needing a system update for some games. I know newer games ask you to update your Wii before you can play them. I don't even know if this is mandatory, but I don't really want to do that and I heard the aforementioned app allows you to bypass this, so I was wondering if this was true. If not, is there something like it?

2. Can Smash Stack brick your Wii? And if it can, is it common?

1. Yes, Gecko OS allows you to bypass system updates. Just load your game through it.

Okay, thanks a bunch. I'll go home and try out Smash Stack on my other Wii, since I just bought it and it has 4.3 installed. One more thing, if someone were to use say Netflix on their Wii, would Homebrew mess that up or anything?

Letterbomb has been released. Like Bannerbomb, this allows you install homebrew without a game, and it works on System Menu 4.3.
When I'm not lazy I'll update the OP with instructions how to use it.

You can leave everything as it is. I doubt Nintendo scan for unauthorized channels but here some facts:

-You cannot update through Nintendo whenever 4.4 or newer is out.

-You need to update manually(through DopMii Wiibrew Edition)

-Optional. You can install Priiloader into it to have new features including brick protection.

Other than that, you can search the web.
