Fliers have been designed, printed, and delivered!
100 B&W prints are being put up in east Eugene (campus area and near the gaming stores).
More fliers will be printed in color and posted in key areas around west Eugene and specific gaming stores. Hoping Jonix will help get some word out in Springfield.

New blood = getting new players.

Because there's going to be some new players we're going to look at having preliminaries for more rounds of play to get the new players their money's worth.

I got some good locations for the fliers too, once I get them from you I will get that going ^_^

Is Pokemon Stadium not a counterpick stage for ssbm?

The stage list was designed around keeping the tourney running smoothly, stages that cause camping/stalling are taken out. Any stage that isn't outright banned can be played on if both players agree to the stage prior to starting the match -- make sure you notify a referee, but banned stages should not be played on and a round can be nullified if you're playing on one (sorry, no Hyrule Temple despite how much we all love it, lol).

I clarified in rules how playing on non-standard stages are handled for future reference.

I think that means you can still counterpick to Pokemon Stadium if your opponent agrees to it.

is this gonna be 5 dollars per event like 5 for singles and 5 per person for doubles or is it gonna be 5 for each game you wanna play?

Do I still have to pay Venue if I just sit in the corner and twiddle my thumbs?

@Yugo: You should pay the venue fee if you are doing the all-day free play. I'm sure nobody will care if you just hang out and only play when there are completely free setups to do so (but be kind to the paying customers and give them priority).

@Foos: $5 goes to BCG for hosting, $5 per event is most likely going to be the cost - that is $5 for Melee singles, $5 for one person in Melee teams, $5 for Brawl singles...
There may require a minimum number of entrants for events, if an event doesn't meet the minimum (like Melee teams last time) then they either become a free event to garner interest or canceled to make room for other events -- we don't have the venue for as long this time, so effective use of time is essential to finish the tourney.
