Not at all. Activision actually should have that title, but they haven't done anything to piss off their fanbase yet. Just wait until gay sex in Call of Grenade: Modern Predator Missile Inbound - World at Ramirez 5. Activision will have their place back in no time.

I don't get it

Activision made no good games in the past year AND charged for DLC.

Why is everyone hating EA for pulling the same BS as Activision when their games are at least good

I was kind of referring to saying that EA is literally twice as bad as Bank of America.

EA didn't bring the US economy to it's knees.

I ain't past the bar but I know a little bit
enough that I'm pretty sure EA isn't THE SINGLE WORST COMPANY IN AMERICA.
If you're calling out my math, I was exaggerating.

But they're bringing the video game industry to its knees, which is really finally taking off here in the US as opposed to being completely foreign. We've had a lot of totally good developers here, even some second party for the Japanese companies, and EA is doing a fine job of using a lot of these small developers as temporary toilets.

And by doing that, they ARE actually hurting the US economy.

And people keep buying their games. Stop blaming the companies and start blaming everyone who continues to shell out cash to them. They've earned enough monetary support from gamers to act whatever way they damn please.

Spoilers:

Seriously this is a huge spoiler don't scroll past this point:

I do blame those people, but that doesn't do any good because stupid isn't something you can fix. This entire deal isn't just aimed at EA, either, this is the kind of repercussion any company can, should, and will get when they pull crap like this, and it should be a message to the entire industry.

Point two: To say that EA has "earned" enough money to act however they want is wrong. Customer satisfaction should always be the number one priority to any business because the customers are where the money is coming from. You go out and start a business with the mindset that as soon as you earn enough money, to hell with the customer, and you'll either go out of business or eventually be in a PR ****house like EA is in right now.

I'm not saying that EA or any other company should listen to customers so much that they start making stupid decisions, but really, a responsible company does not get presented with an award for being awful and then retaliate with a smug-*** comment about how at least they aren't as bad as weapons manufacturers or BP, and then refer to how their games are "award winning", even though almost everyone knows any awards given to games are from heavily biased sources. When it gets to that point, that's when you say "Oh well damn, we didn't know you felt THAT strongly about it. We'll stop doing everything wrong with the industry now."

You're right, I should fix my comment. EA is earning enough money right now to act however they please. They obviously feel no financial threat. Customer satisfaction should be number one when your customers will stop paying for your product if you upset them. If EA can make smug comments and pull lousy shenanigans with their games and still pull in a great profit, then they have absolutely no reason to care about the customer or their PR. None.

If things go as they should, EA will feel the backlash, and badly. But the backlash needs to hit their wallets. Words alone will not do them any harm, nor will awards, internet rants, nasty emails, etc. The wallet is where it counts, and if people are going to send a message EA will listen to, they will do it with their pockets. This is big business, where the bottom line is ALL that matters.

I buy good games.

EA makes good games.

I buy EA products.

It's like avoiding Burger King because they steal business from beach side burger shacks. They're a different industry entirely.

Do you think EA is killing the companies that make original games? No, EA parades shooters and sports almost exclusively.

If EA is killing the ****ty unoriginal shooter developers, then by all means.

Yeah, I agree with Forte. EA doesn't make good games.

People cry that people picked EA over Bank of America, but you have to admit that EA is by far the worst gaming publisher in the market right now. More than 250,000 votes against them should be a wake up call for them and anyone that supports them.  They killed off several developing companies over of the years, helped kill off one of the best series in this generation, and their main money makers which are the sports games don't go through any major updates until every 3 years.  I can't support a company like this.

Also, their reaction to this is the same egotistical attitude Bioware is showing right now which is what got them in this mess in the first place.

I won't disagree that EA is one of, if not the, worst game publisher(s) in the industry. But to me, BoA's putting the entire housing and  global economy into a tailspin (well, more of a tailspin than it's already in) is a more heinous 'crime' than anything EA has done.

You can choose to avoid EA's crappy services and spend your money on something else. You can't as easily choose to avoid BoA when they accidentally repossesses your home. I think the latter is worse than losing a few Jacksons on a game with a terrible ending.

The quality of EA's games has nothing to do with this situation. There's no need to bring it up.

I'd love to know the number of EA published games those 250,000 voters have in their library. I'd wager many of them have bought at least on EA title in the past year.

And money is power. It's their money that gives them the power to destroy upcoming developers and franchises, because without continued support from consumers, these actions would cause them to fail bigtime. We can only hope that game buyers begin to realize this and stop giving them the money, and therefore the power, to act the way they are acting right now.
