My understanding of side events is that they happen somewhat spontaneously if there's enough interest, and not whether or not it's written on the page beforehand. Obviously if it is written on the page beforehand there can be little to no doubt that a side event will happen, but the tournament page is not what sets things in stone.

Anyway, glad the TO posted and cleared up any confusion, I'm on the attending list now (prospect of SSBVC is the motivational factor for me).

Don't know what the comment about SSB64 not being the "same" as Brawl and Melee was supposed to mean... it is a Smash game... at a Smash tourney... was it in regards to entrants?
If so, I checked out the entrants.

BB7 - SSBVC: 10; SSBB: 12

SSBVC is fairly on par with Brawl. Melee is now way ahead of both games though and the reason for that is their welcoming attitude, respectful environment, and eagerness to grow their competitive scene without forgetting it's about having fun.
Looking forward to that same competitive fun happen for the SSB1, thanks for letting us know the schedule is open for it.

So, I see that Skullgirls uses individually-drawn frames of animation for the characters (akin to the old 2D fighters of the 90's); as someone who has done animation, I appreciate this. I also appreciate the detail the artist gave to the big boosums.
