Am I the only person?
So don't get me wrong, I love Brawl and ever since I got Wifi for my Wii I have been spending loads more time playing online and trying to be good. But seriously I am getting fed up with this.

I main Falco (or try to, either one) and every time I play online I get my *** whooped.

Half of it is the fact that sometimes the connection is so slow that I can't play my fastest with him like I normally would be able to.

I guess the other half is I'm not really that great either. I have been practicing for a while now but I still can't beat a level 8 CPU on 3 stock without giving it a couple tries.

How do other people play online? Am I the only one that is running a losing streak right now?

stop what ur doing & crank the level to 9 & learn to beat CONSISTENTLY. u can thank me l8r for it. then u can try 3-stocking the computer, which quite frankly, is pretty damn fun 2 do icon_smile

learn how to chain-grab, shdl (i think thats what its called, anyways its annoyin as hell) & dacus (just as an extra that u can throw out at ppl). alternatively u can try other characters & see who ur good with as well.

1. smashboards has a very good guide on falco: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=298220#
& match-up discussion: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=302359#

2. watch videos of other falco players. 2 links r in the guide above.
tho fer some reason they dont have pelca (who is a great falco/fox player) in neither link. (watch pelca vs riot on how bad it is for me if i want 2 ever beat a spamming good falco T_T ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOh5-5stEnQ

LLMMFFAAOO! Try a falco ditto w/ a lvl 9 until u start winning bro as you progress the lvl 9 cpu will also. you should come to a point where you completely dominate your cpu eventually. After that you can go back to wifi

Well i'm no pro with competitive play, but I'll try to give my 2 cents worth of tips from what I understand.

First off, make sure to not use the same tactics used in fighting cpu's compared to player on wi-fi, since players are harder to predict. In this case scenario, it's usually best to be playing others on wi-fi if you're looking to improve, not cpu's.

Best thing I can advise about struggling with Falco is to try playing each character at a reasonable set period of time. The character that works best with your playstyle is what you should look for.

I give props to Evmaxy54, as he/she (Pardon as I don't bother about genders online) demonstrated the abilities with videos for character tricks and techniques. I would say that after you've found a character that suits your playstyle, begin looking up videos for that character's techniques.

And personally, your not alone when its about trying to not suck. Costantly ending up short on getting around various playstyles is what makes me irritated, especially when the opponet attempts to tease/troll me since I didn't win. Just remember that being in competitive play is originally suppose to be for fun, not to "show who's boss".

Stop playing CPU's for one, and play actual people. Deal with the lag if you must, but if you can find local smashfests or tourneys. Then you are better off learning at them. May be <insert random tourney entry amount here> lost, but the knowledge you can gain from playing other competitors and learn, will stay with you in the long run. And the CPU's flat out cheat with some absurd logic, doing **** no actual player can pull off.

Playing online takes more patience, due to the obvious lag. And no, plenty of people have losing streaks day in and day out.
If your set on playing falco, find a few other falco mains to play against and see how they play in regards to lag.

CPUs tech well.
Falco gets nerfed on wifi, more than other high tiers. Be sure you have a good connection (I stand by wired being much better), are playing people close enough (same region is usually fine), and don't have any unnecessary lag from net uploads/downloads etc.

Ahhhh, classic...
Try learning advanced techniques(ATs), always remember to dodge and sheild a lot, use those projectiles, be smart with the reflector(bounce back Pikas thunder, etc), learn how to use chain grab really well, watch videos of professional falcos to learn techniques from that, and use guides to help you out.
Heres something for you  long read, but it will help.
On a side note, thats a sweet profile picture.
