On Smashboards, a guy named Veril has discovered that rest still has true "combo" setups (other than drill resting with a trip) in Brawl. However, your opponent has to hit you. The trick is interruptible moves. Since the hitstun in Brawl is so low, you can hit through the opponent while they are doing a multi-hit attack and kill them. They have no chance to truly counter this so its awesome.

Does the Meta Knight tornado interruption work the same as the Fsmash and jab interruptions, in that you need to DI towards your opponent?

Yeah, I am trying to get video for all of this. I'm still having difficulty with Diddy Kong, but if I post the videos in slow-mo it should help others do it with everyone. I can rest through his second jab though .

You know, I started working on this sort of thing back when I said I was going to learn how to abuse rest, but I never really had the momentum to get anywhere. It's good to know that as far as framerate goes, it's 100% possible in some of these situations. : )

Gotta love the 1-frame come out time with invincibility... and from my knowledge of framerate, it should be possible to use it in between the hits of PK fire, so if a Ness decides to grab you while you're trapped... AwYAH

Keep this up. Really, this game needs more stuff like this.

Also, do you know if this works on Ike's jab? Way back when I was working on that stuff, I wanted to do a video on Jiggs landing rest kills every 2-3 seconds for the duration of the song Beast II from Evangelion (I think it's like 3 minutes, lol), and that was one of the things I wanted to include if it worked (but obviously I never started on it).

=O noooo i hate ikes jab. ugh i wish it could interrupt it. People use it so much that if it was possible to use rest in the middle of it, i would actually have the reflexes to do it ¬___¬

Thanks for the vid. Realize this thread is old but it's helped me out a bit. Still not the caliber of most of you guys here! Can't quite get the technique for MK's tornado.

Seems extremely useful but some of the jabs seem like they either need good timing or you need to be in the upper part of the jab
