What would make Bowser...so much better..
So I've been thinking how Bowser could've been so much more than he is now.
He's awesome now but imagine Bowser with a projectile.
In the first Super Mario Bros, Bowser waited at the end of each of the castle stages waiting for you to go get him...he shot little fireballs across the stage. If he could do that in Brawl that would be so much better (it could be like tapping B would let him shoot it across the stage, and holding it would have his flames)

I was thinking that his recovery could be his little floaty thing from Super Mario World, but Whirling Fortress is too good.

anything you Bowser users can think up of that could/would make Bowser better?

Bowser needs a better recovery, slightly faster moves (especially F-air), and a bit more power.

I think Bowsers F-air is good enough, and his recovery is NOT bad, he'd probably not be as good without it and I've mastered the recovery with it so I know how not to get gimped, ect.

Fine, but Bowser needs some resistance to avoid common Chaingrabs, especially Dedede's gay one, or some sort of resistance.

Yes, as one of Bowsers big flaws is he is fat and easily juggled and chaingrabbed. He's one of the characters that has the most trouble getting out of Chaingrabs.

Bowser needs:

More power. Seriously, an average guy with a big plastic sword can out-strength a giant turtle monster? What?

Less size, though it's only fair because... He's Bowser.

Less s**t recovery. Honestly.

His down-b should shoot fire directly up in the air and it rains down and burns people like in Mario 64. Imagine having ROB float above you and getting caught in the volcano. That would be sick, I'd kill for Bowser to have a move like that.

His up-b should be him jumping back on to the stage like in Mario 64, where he creates shockwaves as he lands, and he can cancel his up-b momentum constantly by pressing down to do those awesome attacks with it like in Mario Galaxy.

Like other people have said, spurts of fire if fire breath is tapped rather than held. His side-b is cool enough, hitboxes that do low damage upon touching his head or shell. The ability to summon goombas like in that new Mario and Luigi game for the DS. The ability to put people into a state where they can only run in jump after being hit with fire and the ability to enflame goombas to do more damage like in the DS game. His foot-stool would do 20%, he would throw a chain-chomp as a forward tilt and his drill claw as his forward smash....

Maybe I'm going too far with that.

^ Up-B sounds like a decent recovery option. Kinda like Dedede's. Down-B is a neat idea too. Other stuff... Maybe not such a good idea. >.>

Well think about it, if these ideas were in Smash Bros., then they were removed in the next game and replaced with the moves he has now, I know I would be mad.

A useful Down B.

A first name would also make him better. Check it out

better fireballs, a bit more ground and air speed, a better recovery, and faster attacks. These would EASILY make Bowser better.

It's not so much that Bowser needs to be buffed to compete with the better characters, it's that the developers need to realize the gameplay style the game has with the implemented core techniques (infinate airdodge, low hit-stun, etc) and how something as simple as disjointed attacks can give a huge advantage to some characters.

The whole game needs to be revamped.

But to try and balance him against how the game is (make him top tier material without being overpowered)...
Give him more priority, make his upB come out like 2 frames faster, make his pummel faster. That'd at least jump him a few spots. I'd keep typing, but I g2g right now. Class is over.

I do :D,  Bowser is a great character already, but his downb definitely needs more priority.

Y'know what would make Bowser a lot better that seems to fit him perfectly? More attacks with super armor.

That, and it needs to be a "fall" attack, not "stall-then-fall" :D

Superarmor would help Bowser plenty, though it'd need to be on the right moves. I'd say Dsmash (he's in his shell anyway, so superarmor once the hitbox starts). I'd put some on an aerial too, but if his upB came out 2 frames faster like I suggested earlier, it wouldn't really be necessary. Maybe superarmor on startup frames 1-2 or 3 of his Fsmash? He can take a hit and retaliate with total buttrape, but it wouldn't be broken since there might be time to escape if you had used a fast move to attack him with.

Oh, maybe superarmor on his growling taunt, because it'd be badass. : )

And yeah, downB would probably have more uses as an insta-fastfall than one that has delay on startup.

I think that all of that (what I said before + this) on him would keep him interesting, but put him among the top.

Less lag at the end of his attacks. B-air landing lag, d-air landing lag, B-side end lag, f-tilt end lag, too long D-smash, too low b-up, stronger f-tilt, etc.

EDIT: And his down-b is fine, its balanced, it just need more priority. It's got power, so if you time it right you can kill.
