I dont think it takes very much skill to use chaingrabs

I feel obligated to make a decent post here as to not spam, and get an infraction, so I will. If you don't like chaingrabs/infinites, you better head to the Pika, D3, Marth, Yoshi, IC and ZSS boards too. They all have them. Also, it does take skill to use chaingrabs. ICs are very hard IIRC. It takes at least an hour IMO to get the small step down pat. And above all, none of them break the game. ICs are avoidable if you are good enough, Falco's only works at low %, and D3s isn't a huge amount of damge, esp on a smaller stage.

Okay, but its not just the chaingrabs, i have a friend who picks Jungle Japes and Hyrule Temple, and on JJs, he uses Falco Phantasm when you try to get close to him to go to the other platform. In Hyrule Temple, all he does is go far away and shoot lasers. And if you ever manage to get decent damage on him, he goes to the bottom part so its harder to kill him(yes, I know HT is banned, but its so much fun. I think it should be unbanned at the cost of not going to the bottom part).

His smashes are also too strong.

Jungle japes is Falco's best counter pick. If your friend wants to spam lasers then that's the player being cheap, not the character. His phantasm is perfect on jungle japes to avoid hits and fly around the stage quicke for some bairs. Also going to the bottom part is a good choice so he doesn't get KO'd. That's just a simple strategy(or rather common sense) so he won't get KO'd easily, lol. His smashes might be strong but that's the character. lol the fact his smashes are strong has nothing to do with with him being cheap.

Just learn his playstyle. I brawl with a guy all the time and he just attacks, then rolls away, then repeats. It's the person that's cheap, not the character.(MK's b move is kinda cheap though ;])

Also, if one move is working why use two? <not my words

Yes you can beat it. Just figure out how to approach it.

What character are you using?
You can probably find a "Halp with faclo" thread in that character's forum.

Defensive maneuvers depend on which character you're using.

"Don't get grabbed" is horrible and unrealistic advice. I'm just glad my character breaks out of the CG at 20-30% and still survives if he gets the spike off.

Anyways, in my opinion Falco would suck without lasers and CGs. It just feels cheap when a character's advantage over you is one move, especially if that move is the result of a blunder by the game makers.

I can't "not get grabbed" if the Falco player knows what to do.

Chain grabs have been in smash for a while now. Just use a character like Kirby or Game and Watch.... Or you can choose Ice Climbers and Cg him back idc

If a cheap playstyle is possible then the character is cheap. Simple as that. Though cheap is subjective :3. Attacking and rolling away shouldn't be too much trouble.

I'm fairly sure Falco and DeDeDe's grab were tested and OK'd by the playtesters, they're fairly easy to discover and that is the kind of thing that playtesters look at.  There's ways around Falco's CG with most characters, most notably the LeoFTW sit on top of a platform and taunt until you hit 40%.

Metaknight is worse, and we all know it.

Use Falco on Falco. It's a counterpick, I swear.

You're acheiving nothing. Work defensively around the grabs and stay in the air/distant (but that wouldn't be a good idea due to lasers). That's all I have to say.

dood.. falco is not cheap.. a good falco is good... cuz there is more than just lazors and cg.. I admit in some match ups he is just lazors and cg. But I can beat falcos with link... so its not impossible.. you just gotta play smart..

SHAD lazors.. when his lazors stop working he'll approach. Read his approach and punish accordingly.. Take advantage of the stage. And cp if you have to. And never... I repeat never try to fight a falco on japes... thats just suicide..

It's easy as he|| to know what he's gonna do next so it's not that hard to grab him at the end of his roll.

If Falco is so cheap, why don't you just start maining him?

lol jk. Seriously, if you can't beat Falco's chaingrab, start using a technique that can, like camping or using low lag moves when in close proximity to Falco. If you still can't beat it, OK. Just keep playing your character. You just won't be able to beat CG'ing Falcos. If you don't like that, seriously, learn a secondary that can beat Falco or that can escape the chaingrab. Even better, pick a character that can do both!
