Toon Link > Link
Sure, he's smaller then Link and doesn't pack quite as large a punch...but man, I gotta say that Toon Link plays better overall then normal Link.  For starters, Toon Link can actually jump and recover fairly well, much better then normal Link can.  He's faster and overall better at dodging, which means he will be a better choice for pros in the long run.  His attacks are not quite as strong as normal Links, but once you get good enough, the difference is barely noticable.  His range is also a bit lower then Normal Links, but it hasn't really bothered me as much.  Yes, you are light as Toon Link, but as I said before, that speed gives you a greater dodging ability.

So, in the end, I think Toon Link is much better then Link.  Though, I may be wrong icon_razz.  What do you think?

ganny did something funny.

Toon Link and Link are better against some characters than others. I personally play toon link when fighting light-medium characters and Link against heavy characters. Toon Link can't pack quite enough punch to get the heavy characters out and he is sent flying by a smash. Link on the other hand can destroy heavy characters since he is heavy and hits hard. He can do almost anything toon link can do. He also has a slightly longer hookshot. But Link is decimated by faster characters such as pikachu and fox. They just run and spam, and since Link is slow... . The answer is Toon Link for those situations, fast to run dodge and attack and can send light person flying.

Well thats my analysis.

I find falseness to this thread.

Link's a good strategist. With Toon Link, making a mistake is a lot easier because most of Toon Link's moves are either seen coming or easily punishable if missed. Plus his range is pretty bad when it comes to grabbing and slashing. Link's moves on the other hand usually have multiple attacks and have good range.

I find Toon cool to use, but I still think Link's a good choice too. They're equal, not one greater than the other.

LOL

not at all.

Link is still a playable charachter so he's not that horrendous.

A. Never start a comeback with "LOL" (especially all caps), it makes you look like a noob.
B. I don't understand, you gave no support with that so I'm so confused here.
C. You spelled "Character" wrong. Nice one.

Toon Link's range may not be on par with say Marth or Ike but it is much better than most other characters in the game, not to mention the disjointed hitbox of his sword. Now on the subject of being easily punishable, Toon Links grab is easily punishable yes. But his other attacks? Almost all of them come out quickly and end pretty fast too. Fsmash can be punished if you miss with both but if you miss you aren't going to follow up with the second attack. Basically, I don't understand how you see Toon Link as easily punishable or as having bad range.

Haha calm down there big guy. First off this is just a forum so who really cares about spelling. LOL and I guess capitalizing "LOL" is bad and makes me look like a noob? Errr I'm kind've like the only toon Link who has won a large tournament before (EWU II) >_>. How many Link players do you know that have won a tournament? Ummm none lol. Deva's the only really amazing Link player that does extremely well at tournaments but that doesn't take away the fact that adult Link sucks compared to toon Link (but he's not horrendous like I said, he should be mid tier imo, but most players believe he's low tier).

I guess I can say some of the basics. Toon Link has combos that Link (and most other charachters) lack. He also has a way, WAY better recovery, and he has overall better matchups.

Seriously just calm down.

Although I will admit that Link's uncharged fsmash when hit with both hits is absolutely rape compared to Toon Link's. 33% damage versus 23%? Yes please.

I always take speed over power, so I prefer Toon Link. I still like to use Link though.

I agree, i usually play with Link but i get tired of falling short with Links ^b. Toon Link's floaty gravity is fun to play with.

I like both Toon and Link, gah, so hard to choose who to main, I thought this would help, but Toon Link is so light and easy to kill, and link is heavy, but sucks at recovering. Now I hear about this Deva and imagine what I would have accomplished if I kept up with Link from the start and what I could've done with Toon if I had kept up with him. Someone help me choose, it's way too hard to pick between Links, especially since I'm one hardcore Link fanboy ^^.

I think Link has a lot more potential due to his range and power, but Toon Link has ease of use and mobility. Also i love short hop bair.
