I was almost too afraid to make this blog becasue i was not sure what you guys would think. But i decided to be brave and not keep this bottled up inside of me. I probably never told anybody on AIB but i have some tourette syndrome and it can cause me problems even though i don't have it nearly as bad as some people. Because of the fact that i have tourette syndrome i like many other people that have an issue like tourette syndrome tend to get obsessed with certain things. Well i have an obsession too and that obsession is getting better at smash. And it all started when i used to play smash casually and i one day was on the computer at my friends and came accross MTV true life vid that was starring KillaOR. Ever since that day for the past two years i have been training to get better and better untill it got to where i could not stop wanting to get better and play in tournaments. Because i have ADHD also had a lot of trouble concentrating until this year i started getting acupuncture to fix that. Well way back when the only person i had to fight was my best friend Tdelta and had no community i never gave up no matter how easy it would have been to give up my dream of winning tournaments. And When brawl came out there was a place called metagames unlimited that started hosting smash tournaments and ever since then i have felt like i am part of a community and a part of something thats bigger than myself because i finally got to experience what it was like to win against real people in a competitive environment and play against others that like the game just as much as i do. And to tell the truth i think i owe the people of AIB a thank you because i think it was you guys that has kept me going. You guys have been very kind to me and have taught me alot about smash. Thank you.

Fortune cookies...
Remember back in the good old days when fortune cookies actually said fortunes? I once got a cookie that said, "Wonderful vacations are right around the corner." And indeed, we got a coupon for $20 worth of Starbucks cofee right as our vacation began. Needless to say, the rest of our vacation was also filled with luck.
Old stuff are usually much better, because as the new one comes out, it makes one realize how much better off it was when it was old. Sequels get worse. Series die off. It makes one want to stay with the old things that are actually good. Then, they realize they are now old-fashioned.
Instead of being creative, fortune cookies give boring advice. What's more, they aren't good advice. They just take something people already know, then make it sound fancy.
"There is a true and sincere friendship between you and your friends." Your friends are friends.
In fact, that is how most "smart" advice is given. They take something obvious and already known, and make it sound cooler. Bigger words, fancy sentence structure, and random metaphors. Do that, and people will seem smarter then they really are.
The modern tone of life is now telling other people what to do. Fortunes now say, "You are cheerful and humorous with good friends." "You are smart and optimistic, which others view as a good characterstic." They are now telling people, who they are and who they are not. Society now tells others what to do to fit in.
One good example is the issue of drugs. Friends are telling one to take them, because it makes one feel good and cool. Peer-pressure is big. Then, in response to this, drug control groups advertise not to take drugs. One commercial I see on tv is, "When you lose the power to make your own decisions, you are no longer what makes you you." It then shows the teen taking drugs. "Don't give in to peer-pressure. You have the power to decide who you are. Make the right choice." Then, they show the words and tell people, "Say NO to drugs."...Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that I like fortune cookies.

Help! ; ;  I beg you~~~~~~~~~~~~

My sister said she'll buy me anything I want for my birthday!  :3

There is nothing I really want or need at the moment.  I only want a Wrath of the Lich King beta just to try out Death Knight so I can see if I will main it or not - or rush something else to 80.  ;;  Money cannot buy that though without going against the rules and I would never allow someone to break the rules [by selling me a key code].

My friend recommended .......... ^______________^

Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice

It looks quite good ; ;  Here is a link ~ http://www.gametrailers.com/player/28803.html

I've only ever played RPG's and MMORPG's (besides Counter Strike) before Smash.  This will be a step in the right direction!

Also - if you know me - I am in love with anime-looking characters in video games ; ;  Also the simple look to it!  Bad graphics - two characters talking!  But in the background is still images of their high quality selves!  oooooooooooooowaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!  Suuu kawaiiiiiiii .__________.?  This only happens sometimes it seems though from the gameplay videos I've watched =/

Should I get Disgaea 3 or Mario Kart Wii @@;?  She said she could buy both since she also wants to play Mario Kart Wii, but I dun wanna force her to@@;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;  I don't really want Mario Kart Wii though, but we used to have a lot of fun playing the N64 one together.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm@@:;;;;;;;;;;?!?!?!

Everyone has slumps every now and then, if you haven't had one you might, soon. Yesterday was a pretty bad Smash day for me, a 4 game losing streak and some of the most humiliating defeats for me.(Probably roaming Youtube by now, hopefully they'll forget it was me!) I was wondering why I couldn't win, each loss, one after another, kept annoying me. I let it get to my head and I played poorly, too agressively and recklessly, giving way to many openings. I kept playing in the same "I better not lose" mood, which eventually led to more losses.

Let me just list some ways I died:

-Chaingrabbed by last stock 146% Falco when just I just respawned leading to a spike (Where I stupidly mashed Z to airdodge to death)
-Running into my own Landmine (Priceless!)
-Off the ledge Bair for stage spike, but Fastfalled so I couldn't recover.
-Running into fully charged smashes, Anti-Ike style!
-Missing bomb jumps, if not, missing techs, then plummeting to my doom
-Grabbing and not throwing, leading to multiple smashes in the face
-Recovering into the little corners of FD...

Sometimes, it just isn't your lucky day, but it's just a game! You know what you can do? Calm down, maybe take a little break here and there, don't make the same mistake I did and let your ladder rank suffer :I I took notice of the ways I died, this gave me the ability to correct them. I worked a bit on my mindgames here and there, a bit on the matchups, a bit on the recovery, and there you go!

Point is, you just need to sit back and look at the big picture once in a while. Yes you lost, does that mean you need to skip the replay and angrily smash your controller against your hand? Watching your own replays of loses can show you your errors and mistakes. Sometimes you might even say to yourself "How come I keep trying to grab him?" maybe, "I shield alot!" or "I approach too much." Seeing things from your opponent's point of view can show you how you played, maybe helping you change things around. Do I do _____ too much? Maybe I need to _____ more... I always _____, does that make me predictable? These little things you notice can change your gameplay alot. In fact, last week I never used Snake's grenades in a match, not once. Now I can manipulate my opponent into hitting them, tacking on so much pressure and percent it's barely funny.

Sure, learning from other player's vids help, but they have their own style and you have yours. You can't just copy one player's playstyle and expect it to work. Back in Melee I used to run around going all BombSoldier, yes it worked for a while but when I faced people who were not comfortable to the single playstyle I used, I was dead. Foxes, Falcons, Falcos, all those combo-able guys were easy to me, eventually I fought the other characters, Ganons, Marth, Jiggypuff, etc. I only focused on the flashy and interesting combos that BS had on his highlight reels. When it came down to it, I couldn't characters who I couldn't combo, relying on my shine too much was fatal just because I saw BS did it. This can easily be said for Brawl also.

Remember, keep a positive attitude, don't forget it's just a game! Have fun, mess around, play friendlies sometimes just to keep stress off of the ranked matches. Stay calm, analyze the situation, work your way to victory! If you lose you can try again, not like your character dies or anything, so have fun. Best of luck!

I'm going to guess that there are obviously more new sore losers this season and desperate for that $200 prize. Last season, I might had gotten a few negative comments but, mostly posititve ones. Almost now, mostly half my wins, people complain back about me spamming? Please johns, I do other moves instead of my usual bair and downsmash R.O.B. combo. I also rely on R.O.B.'s long reach attacks, lasers, and gyros, so how am I spamming? I guess most johns just want me to stand still and get their win.

I respected on how well they played but, more johns for me it seems. I faced one guy who I thought was a good sport but, ended up receiving a negative comment on my play style just because he couldn't get a free chain grab KO on Castle Siege. Then, I faced a guy who constantly uses the same move over and then complained about me spamming moves, how ironic. But, then I see they also receive their share of negative comments as well.

Well, johns, you really gotta learn on how to accept your losses and also rely on different strategies instead of mostly relying on one. I mean, I too have my upsetting losses but, you just gotta deal with it and move on. Also, online lag, is something you have to expect when online gaming, don't take things too seriously just because you lose when lag occurs. You never know when things happen. Same thing happens to me too but, I'm not going to bother complaining about it.

Also, I just gotten Optimum Online a couple of months ago and my connection is much more faster and stronger than ever. Even with Verizon I had good matches going on. What I would suggest to these johns is that you don't bother downloading, uploading, or doing other stuff on the computer while in a match other than checking back to see what counterpick will be chosen for the next match. Still complaining about it? Well then, I suggest you johns get either a better router or internet service.

<font face="trebuchet ms,geneva]I'm andy1796, and i'm gonna tell ya some of my strategies in brawl.

Toon Link. (MAIN)

Spam Bombs and d-air attack, but after a pretty good percentage, smash attack 'em.  If Link reaches a high percentage I increase my sheild use, and I use more projectiles. If I can, I'll throw 'em off the stage and spike 'em. But that is best for CP's. I try to take advantage of my speed so sometimes I can run around and mind trick 'em. I usually win on stages like Green Greens and such. I like to go on Shadow moses, because it's different. No edges. I like this, because i'm not best at recovering, but i can usually make it since i'm hit while im on my way down, or i would pull a bomb out and get an extra boost. I like to hold a bomb and bommerang then bomb then shoot a quick arrow. It racks up damage. Let's talk about another character.

Marth (Secondary, Not my main secondary)

Since Marth has no prjectiles, I have to use close-ranged combat. I usually use air attacks, and I like to throw the character to rack up some damage, and when it looks like it's the right time, I use my "B" attack, because it is fast and powerful. I use it quite alot. I'm still working on spiking with Marth, but i'll find it. I enjoy using Marth because he is fast, and he can jump pretty quickly. You can see some of my all character strategies after I finish the one character strategies.

Zero Suit Samus

I always liked Samus the time i've had brawl, and when I found out that there is a Zero Suit, I tried out the cheat, and at first, I wasn't interested. But recently I came back to her, and I realized how good she was. I like to use her "B" moves because they cam stun you and they cause lots of damage. I'm not very good with her, but I still enjoy her. She is just very interesting

Ike (Not a main really, just telling ya icon_razz)

I like Ike because he is extremely powerful. His moves can cause a One-Hit KO! Ike is my second best spiker, and I take advantage of that. I like to throw you off the stage, and wihle your on the edge, I do a crouch attack. It's a really good spike. I discovered this once while I was fighting a Marth at Smashville. Marth is SO easy to spike. I once used a Zelda and used a down attack. BOOM. Anyway, back to Ike. I don't main Ike because he's slow. I like fast characters. Link is probably my heaviest most used character. Ike is good let's leave it at that.

Pokemon Trainer (Not really a main , but I use him a lot)

I enjoy P. Trainer because there are three fighters in one character. I like to use Charizard, and use common smash attacks. Chraizard's side move is very useful to KO. I usually change to Squirtle after a KO or two. I usually use air attacks, and I don't really use Ivysaur too mcuh. After a high percentage I change back to Charizard, and I use him until my KO. Then I use Squirtle, then so on, and so on.

ALL CHARACTERS

Run. Attack. KILL. Not a very bad strategy. I'm a pretty competitive player, but I can also just bo the complete opposite. I like characters with good Final Smashes because that's usually the only item I use besides pokeballs. I spike every opportunity I get. OR I will just be on the other side of the stage using unjust taunts. Either way, there you go.

Have a great day everyone, and remember, practice brawling as much as you can, and you WILL succeed.

Yesterday one of my friends told me of this club goes to after school on Fridays, and that today they were going to play Melee. Since I was too lazy to play it at my own house, I figured "What the hell?" and went today. It was weird. I didn't have nearly the same "skills" as before. I used these guys.

Pichu: I was OK with him, but still got 4th place.
Jigglypuff: Also OK, but I never could land Rest. Still got 4th place.
Mr. Game and Watch: God, Brawl G&W destroyed Melee G&W for me. I can barely use him in Melee anymore.
Mewtwo: Also OK, but not as much as the othet two I was OK with.
Ice Climbers: Not one of my usual mains back in the day, but I still liked them. In Melee, they felt easier to control for me than Jigglypuff now.
Falco: The character I felt most comfertable with today. He felt the most "Brawlish" to me.

I'll probably play it again later, and when I do I'll use Peach, because I remember not liking her as much in Brawl.

Ok, I was bored so I decided to write blog reports on how my school's marching band is coming along.

Since the band has been practicing for about a month, I'll just go ahead and say what happened in the last month in this blog, then continue the blogs later by weeks. I will also share some basic info about our other section leaders and our seniors.

Currently, We have set 2/3 of our show this year, and will work on the next piece's sets next week.

I am currently low-reed section leader. I play the Tenor Sax(also plays Alto and Bari in concert and Jazz band)

A friend of mine named Sean also plays Tenor Sax, he's the Co-Captain of the low-reeds and my right hand man in anything. Also has an AiB account named Zazu. He's also known from watching The Lion King way too much and randomly singing the song, "I have a lovely bunch of Coconuts"

Morgan is one of the two Alto Sax Captains and is the Woodwind captain. She dedicates herself to the band much like me and a lot others.

Josh, the other sax captain, is the soul of the band. He has so much that you can't see him at night. he is the number 1 Saxophone in the state(IMO) and is known for his solos and jazz.

Kenny is also a good friend of mine. he's the trumpet captain and dedicated to the band.

Jerry is the showoff-y trumput that tends to act like an idiot. He's the Captain of the Band Pirates. Also has a twin brother.

Janise is our Flute/Piccolo captain. Along with the rest of us, she's also dedicated to the band.

Thomas is the 'Bone captain, and he wears glasses =D

James is the co-captain of the 'bones and is Jerry's twin. He's the Ninja Captain and is known to be a Pepsi-holic, and to be a cronic flirter.

Melissa is our Drum Line Captain, and is known to be short, which all of her hieght went to her brother, Alex, who is around 7'3 and is a freshman.

Jordan is our Front Ensemble captain. She has been captain for her 2nd year in a row now.

Aida is one of our Drum Majors, she was also our drum major last year.

Melony is also a drum major. She used to play Tuba, and this is her first year as drum major.

Mr. Trivette is our band director. He's been proven to be crazy, and is currently going bald at the age of 27. =D

...and for more info about me. I'm the co-captain of the ninjas and I am the most spirited in our band. I have also been known to yell EXTREMELY loud, and has made Sean go deaf a few times.
