What you're referring to is a Gyro rebound that is favored by a German R.O.B. player (forget his name now). I developed Gyro rebounds back in '08 and found it is most efficient to rebound off the side of the stage because a bounce off Battlefield's crystal requires a fully charged Gyro or a closer shot. If I spent time charging it or going down to the bottom of the stage that opens me to an attack and a more likely stage-spike. So I developed the tech skill needed to rebound an uncharged Gyro off the side of the stage, which takes great precision to perform on such stages as Smashville and Lylatte, but I got it down. In the end I prefer an obvious Gyro shot onto the stage which drains a Shield if blocked and I can do ADC Throw and pull of a signature combo (ADC Toss, F-Air, GT, U-Smash). OCEAN using a B-stick to perform Reverse-B's speaks plainly on his tech skill, so I can understand why he'd choose t |
