It’s time for the next edition of QotW!
(It's early because I got too little sleep yesterday and somehow thought it was a Thursday today!! Whoops. Not too big of a deal right?) We had a lot of creative answers
for this round, which were fun for us to read. However, there were a
few people that submitted past the deadline. Remember that entries close
one week after the article is posted! There’s a chance that judges
might still read your entry after the deadline, but I would still
recommend you make your submission earlier.
*This week's deadline will be on next Thursday even though this was posted on a Wednesday.
next few paragraphs with the contest information will be repeated in
all issues, so you can skip over them it you’ve read them previously.
Each time an article is posted, it will contain a question to be
answered. Just post your answer in the comments section of the article
to participate. Easy right? The best answer and runner ups will be
chosen by a panel of judges that includes: Foodies
, Zano, and OrangeFox
Despite the name, I will be hosting this biweekly
(every other week)
either Thursday or Friday. The specific day depends on the number of
other articles that need to be posted for the week.
The articles will contain the response of the winner and up to 3
runner ups for the previous question. If participation is low, there
will be fewer runner ups; the minimum number of entrants for a contest
to be judged is 4. Submissions will close one week after the article is posted.
- As stated above, just post a comment to this article to participate.
- None of the questions will have a direct, correct answer
. If one does, the question chosen was bad and I give you permission to type angrily at me.
- With that in mind, make sure your answer is creative
Being clever, witty, and/or funny will heavily influence your chances
(in your favor, of course) of having the best answer! If you want to
be really thorough, maybe even consider the preferences of the judges.
- It’s possible to answer some of the questions in
one sentence, but writing slightly longer responses will most likely
help you win. However, if your one-liner is amazing we won’t discount
it just because it is short. Similarly, if you submit a wall of text
with nothing of substance don’t expect to win just because your answer
- Your answer must pertain to the question.
- You may only post one answer. If you post more than one, only the first will be looked at.
- Keep your answers appropriate.
- Proper grammar and punctuation helps. Prizes: QotW winner
QotW runner up
Note: There is no participation badge due to the nature of the
contest (typing one sentence with no thought can take 10 seconds), so
make sure to put effort into your answers! Want to suggest a question for future Question of the Weeks?
Send Foodies a PM with a subject with something along the lines of: “QotW question suggestion”
Your question should be Smash/AiB-related, appropriate
, and thought provoking
. Questions that have the potential to produce entertaining answers are also highly preferred. Do not
send questions that could cause a flame war (Ex: Should the community
ban MetaKnight?), questions that can be answered with just yes or no
(Ex: Is playing against Ice Climbers annoying?), or questions with
correct answers (Ex: How many mid-air jumps does Kirby have?).
Here are some past examples to help your question designing:
- Which SSBB character would be the best at playing SSBB?
- You wake up as your main. What do you do?
- If every character was as powerful as they are in their actual game,
who would be the best/worst fighter, and why?
The questions that are featured will give credit to people who asked them. You also get a badge! Note:
You may not participate in the contest if the question featured for the contest is the one you suggested. Prize: QotW featured questioner Results
And now, here are the results from the previous competition! The
question was: “If your main had 3 wishes what would they be and why?”
★ ★ Winner ★ ★
“Hey ROB! What would you do with 3 wishes?
1. Oh, he has no mouth, he was never designed to convey thoughts. We
need to use his first wish to add on a speaker so he can communicate!
2. There we go! Now what does ROB want most in the world.......?
ROB has no needs or desires and so he cannot wish. We have a catch 22,
for him to be able to want something, we have to use his second wish to
upgrade him with an emotion-emulation program.
3. Now then... with this last wish... what does he desire the most?
**This had to be made into an image because it kept screwing up the post
“ROB talking in code added a nice touch.”
“Definitely loved his and how they all tied together, and the lines of code made me laugh.”
“Nice idea, made it really seem like ROB.”
“I love how made ROB able to talk in a way that would probably seem realistic.”
= Runner ups =
Kawaii Desu Otter: “Toon Link would wish
1# he wouldn't be cut from Smash Bros 4 (for obvious reasons)
2# Tetra would drop her pantsu (for obvious reasons)
3# he wasn't voiced by a wailing infant (for obvious reasons)”
“(for obvious reasons) lol”
“Lol no comment”
“For Obv- Damnit Foodies.”
Volke Aeno: “I've done a deep analysis on Yoshi's characters to derive his wishes.
1) As a character much like Mario (aka generic heroic stuff), there's a
good chance that he would wish for peace in the Mushroom Kingdom. This
would eliminate the constant problems of Bowser kidnapping Peach or
generic otherworldly evil character possessing _______. Through this, I
firmly believe he can thoroughly enjoy his other two wishes as much as
2) "Oh god it's been years and I still hear it make
the crying stop make it stop MAKE IT STOP PLEASE AHHHHHHHHHHHhh." OK,
perhaps I'm projecting.
“I don't really get #2 but MELONS!!!1!!!1! got me.”
“Oh god that 2nd wish....” -Pretty Flacko-
: “Samus' wishes
1. People would stop mistaking her as a guy. Her job seems kind of
manly and all being a Bounty Hunter, but I am sure she wants credit as a
female doing a man's job.
2. That she would have closure by
killing Ridley for good and ridding the galaxy of Space Pirates. Ridley
led Space Pirates to her planet destroying everything and everyone on
it, including her parents.
3. That she would stop losing all
of her weapons and suits in the beginning when she embarks on a new
adventure in outer space. It'll save her all the trouble backtracking
looking for them all. It is really inconvenient for her. (Although, it
makes her games more challenging and fun.)”
“Answers were accurate and the third is funny and true.”
“I can feel for Samus being mistaken for a guy always, and losing her power-ups as they fall down the drain.”
“That 3rd one, I...I just can't.”
Congrats to the winner and runnerups!
Finally, here’s the question for this edition’s Question of the Week!
"How do you think your main would act if they had an account on AiB?" - Hamek
What are you waiting for? Post your answers!
