Hello everyone. Zano here, looking to inform everyone of an insanely cost-effective method of traveling known as Megabus. I've had a lot of people ask me questions about it, so I figured the best way to get the info out and available to everyone would be to make an article explaining what Megabus is and if it's available to you.

What is Megabus?

Megabus is an express, state-to-state bus service. Unlike others, their tickets can cost AS LOW AS $1! Think it's too good to be true? It's actually a lot better. You see, Megabus not only has insanely low prices, but also provides at-seat plug-ins, panoramic windows, and FREE WIFI!

(See this guy relaxing with his styling sunglasses? This could be you!)

You can't even get most of this on a standard bus service, but Megabus will provide it all for only a fraction of the competition's price. Now you may be asking, if Megabus is really that amazing, why would anyone use any other company? Megabus has been around since 2006, but compared to other companies, it's much more limited with respect to destinations. At the moment, it only runs in the Midwest, Northeast, and Canada, but they've been expanding like crazy lately, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it on the west coast in the near future.

Why is Megabus important to me?

One of the biggest (if not the biggest) deciding factors for a tourney goer is obviously going to be how much they have to spend to make it to a tournament.

(Accurate amount of money spent by the average smasher per tourney.)

Normally, you'd be spending around $100 (maybe more?) for a bus or hundreds on a plane to arrive at your destination.  With Megabus, you can take a series of buses and make a trip across the US for less than $50! Just look at Seibrik, who is currently organizing a trip from Florida to Texas for WHOBO 4. (For anyone interested, go here for details.) Since Megabus recently announced that Texas is an available stop, attendance for WHOBO 4 has skyrocketed! I quickly realized how important Megabus is to our community, and how it will possibly be our saving grace. I mean, who wouldn't want to travel around the country with a group of friends on an amazing bus with all these luxuries at almost no cost? The trip itself will be an adventure, and then you still have the tournament experience to come. It all pays for itself so many times over.

How can I find out more about Megabus?

On their website of course! (Here's the link, since I know most of you are lazy.) There is a catch to Megabus: you MUST get your tickets online, but really, that's no issue in this day and age for anyone.  If you do want your tickets at the lowest prices, you will need to plan sometime in advance. For example, let's say you want to get from Houston to San Antonio. Seats like this fill up fairly fast, so there most likely won't be any available for a while (the 19th is the soonest you could get one now.) As another example, let's say you want to get from Chicago, IL to Toledo, OH.  This isn't as in-demand of a trip, so tickets are available usually as soon as the following day, but if you were to get them this early, the price of the trip would increase exponentially, usually around $25+. (Still better than a standard bus service price anyways!) If you wait a while, to get your ticket, the price tends to drop a lot, but for trips like this, it most likely will not get as low as $1, probably around $9 or so on average. Back on topic, the message is to make sure you keep an eye on whatever tourney you wish to attend and come up with a plan early. This shouldn't be a problem, though, because with advertising of tournaments months before their dates, you have ample time to get in on those deliciously low prices.

So there you have it! You all had a look at Megabus and how it can help you get where you need to go, tournaments or otherwise. There are a lot of amazing tournaments going on this year that need our attention and attendance, and what better way to get to them than in the lap of luxury, riding in the comfort of a Megabus to your destination safely and enjoyably? I plan to make very good use of this in the future, and I hope many of you do the same. The smash community is so great, and I know money is always tight for some of the younger players who don't have jobs, or the older players who have bills to pay, so give this a try and know you won't regret the decision!

Zano here, bringing you some important information regarding CLASH of the Titans 6.  First off, this tournament is an Apex 2013 qualifier, meaning if you place high enough, you'll be able to obtain those oh-so precious seeding points for Apex 2013.  If you want more information regarding Apex qualifiers and details on seeding, you can click on this link to learn more.  Seeding is very important, especially with a tournament series as huge as Apex, so be sure to try to rack up as many points as you can so you can get higher seeding in the bracket!

Next up is some info regarding the schedule for this tournament. This tournament was scheduled to be a two-day event, but Chibo took into consideration that this summer is going to have an amazing amount of events going on, and while everyone only has so much money to spend, he made a decision to make it as affordable as he could to ensure attendance.  So, with that being said, CoT6 will now last for one day, June 2nd.  This might seem like bad news at first, but of course, there is a huge upside to this. With one less day, that means the venue fee is now cut in half! Yes, that means it is now only $10, and you no longer have to worry about getting a hotel to attend the next day. That's even MORE money saved that you would have otherwise spent! The allbrawl side event will have to be cut from the schedule due to time, but there will still be friendly set-ups for people to try it out.  Also, depending on time, crews may or may not happen. Everything depends on you, the players, and how fast and efficiently this tournament is run.

If you have the chance to attend this tournament, you really should. Chibo is an amazing host and always hosts hyped events. If you can't attend due to distance or expenses or for whatever reason, be sure to check out the high quality stream at this channel the day of the event. That should be everything you need to know, but if you have any other questions, be sure to contact Chibo and he'll clear things up. CHIIIIIIIBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello AiB, Zano here again, bringing you a new month of tournaments for you to seek out over May.  We have a pretty good spread of tourneys over the course of the month, including a pretty big one at the end, so make sure you check this article to see if you're able to make it! Last month went pretty well, and tournaments saw some new faces, not to mention a few wifi warriors that went out and proved themselves, so let's aim for even bigger numbers this month.  Alright, so let's begin, and we've got stuff on the first weekend of the month, right off the bat.

May 5th:

We Hate Grownups 12 (Kingsville) - Kingsville is where you'll want to be for this tourney, and it's looking to get a bit of interest from other cities like Houston and San Antonio possibly.  This tournament will be MK legal in singles and doubles for anyone interested, and it will also be using a 10 minute timer.  Another note you might be interested in is that melee will be there as well.  This depending on OoC attendance, it probably won't be a terribly big tourney, but it's sure to be worth checking out if you live in South Texas, so don't miss it!

May 12th:

Woodlawn II (San Antonio) - For anyone who went to the first one, you know how unique an experience this was, as it was hosted in a theatre! This tournament brought in a lot of new faces and had a really great turnout, and now it's back again to bring yet another great event to the players of San Antonio.  Chances are this will get really great OoC attendance, so it's definitely something you'll want to check out if you live in the area!

The Arena: South Texas Gaming (McAllen) - Sadly, this tournament tried to have a brawl event last month, but not enough interest was generated and it had to be cancelled.  This is mainly a melee oriented tournament series, but they do try to have brawl as well, so it's up to all of you in the area to help give them a reason to continue running brawl, or they just won't try anymore.  If you live in the South Texas area, give it a shot and show them that you care!

May 19th:

Batou's Monthly 8 (Forth Worth) - Due to scheduling issues last month, this tournament did not occur, and will instead happen on this date, so if you thought you missed it, now's the time to make up for it! Batou is one of the main TOs in the DFW area, so it'd be a really good idea to attend his tournament if you're in the area, as there's only one other tournament series that runs in the area for the time being.  There is always a great turnout for these, and even Houston will make the trip over when they get the chance.  The venue is also really nice, so you'll have a good time, don't miss this.

DMT 17 (Amarillo) - There isn't too much activity for brawl in North Texas, that's where Dakpo's Monthly Tournaments come in! This tournament series is great for players of all skills that just wanna go and have fun, since entry is free and it still pays out! If you know anyone that lives in the area, let them know about this tournament so they can go and have a fun time.

May 26th:

Captain InZano's Brawl Tourney 3 (Corpus Christi) - The tournament series that I hold down here in the Coastal Bend.  The last 2 tournaments we had fairly good attendance, getting as many people as the store does for it's other tournaments, but I hope to pass up even that.  I've advertised this in any way that I possibly could, and have been trying to get any OoC attendance I can, while also trying to find any players around my own city that have been lurking about.  Last time we had attendance from Houston, so that was a pretty big deal (although after you read the next tourney, you'll see why there won't be any this time lol).  If you live in the South Texas area, try your best to come to our event, and I'll make sure you have a great time!

Hobo 38 (Houston) - Now for the big one, the one that's sure to have the most hype! Why you may ask? It's simply because, there will be a $1,000 pot bonus for this event! That's right, an additional $1,000 in prize money, in addition to whatever else there may be! The event will be taking place at Comicpalooza and will be a two day event, so make sure to return on sunday for more fun.  The best part of this tournament though, is that if you don't manage to make it out of pools, don't fret! You can enter the amateur bracket, and that will have a payout of it's own, so even if you don't do your best, you still have another chance at making some pretty nice cash.  Except to see all the heavy hitters from around Texas here, so competition will be stacked.  If you think you're up to it, or if you just want to get better, this is a great opportunity, go show everyone what you're made of!

That wraps it up for now, and remember, if you want your tournament to be listed here, please make a thread for it on smashboards in the southwest console tournament listing section.  Be sure to check back on this article later in case anything gets added, as new tournaments tend to pop up about halfway through the month or so, or if anything has to be rescheduled.  Thanks for reading!!

Zano here, bringing you the latest news in all things brawl across Texas! I'm going to be doing a monthly article to inform everyone of all the tourneys being hosted around Texas for your convenience. It seems we never get any advertising around here for such events, so I'm here to change all that! From now on, you'll be in the know about all the tournaments we have to offer across the state, and I'll even inform you of everything I know about them so you know what you're getting into. Keep in mind that some tournaments may not be announced yet, in which case, I will update this article to include them, so make sure to check this more than once. Alright, so we got a tournament coming up every week for the rest of the month, so let's get to it and see which ones are closest for you to attend.

---

April 14th:

Hobo 37 - Everyone knows Hobo, it's well know as one of the best series in Texas with the highest level of competition in Texas available each time, due to most of our best players living in Houston, and being close enough to travel to by some of our other top cities. Usually run by Xyro, Sync is now in charge of running this series and will be providing the same excellence you'd expect from a hobo, not to mention a really nice venue at Game Over Video Games. It's also important to note that this is not only a part of project WHOBO 4, but is also a part of the Impulse Circuit. For more info on those, check out the tournament page I've provided. Expect this to be the biggest tournament of the month with so much at stake.

DMT #16 Smash at TTU - Dakpo's Monthly Tournament series, and probably the only tournament series you'll find in North Texas. If you live in the area and you've been trying to find a scene, this is your chance to find some brawl action and meet some great players. Dakpo is known for being a top 5 ZSS, so a chance to play him is well worth the visit if you can find yourself in the area. The best part of this series is that it's FREE to enter, and has CASH prizes, how amazing! It may not give much incentive for out of city players to attend due to the low payouts, but anyone who lives in lubbock/amarillo should definitely check it out.

The Arena: South Texas Gaming League #9 - Can't say I know much about this series, but I'll provide you with what I do know. As far as I know, this is primarily a melee series, but this time they are holding brawl as well. The host is Skeith, and he's a pretty good TO down in south texas, so his tournament should be run quite nicely. It's in McAllen, so it's not too close to any of the major brawl cities in the state, but it shouldn't be lacking in players at all, and seems like a fun time, especially for anyone who is interested in both games!

April 21st:

Revolution 11 - Denti's monthly tournament series in Dallas, and is rapidly growing as one of the bigger tournaments our state has to offer. Denti is a top 5 Olimar and one of the best players in Texas, and the rest of DFW is filled with some of our highest ranked players, so competition will be anything but easy here. Recently, Infern and Y.b.M have moved to the area, so you can expect them to show up as well, adding to an already stacked tournament as it is. It's a great series worth checking out if you live in the area, $10 entry fee is also god incentive for OoC players to travel. Melee will also be hosted at this event for those interested. Oh, and one more interesting note, this tournament will be MK legal, so we'll see how things go with that.

April 28th:

Batou's Monthly 8 - Another great series in the DFW area. Batou has seen great success with his series in Fort Worth, bringing in notable names from all over Texas, and even at one point, Vinnie made an appearance while he was in Texas! This tournament will be held at Evolution Games, which is a great venue if you've never seen it before. Expect lots of hype and a great time if you show up. Not sure who all besides DFW will be in attendance, but you'll see pretty much everyone you see from Revolution attending, since it's in the same area pretty much.

---

Remember if you want to have your tourney listed, to put it in the southwest console tournament listing section of smashboards so I can include it. If you have a tourney you'd like to be added to this list, please message me so I can add it! So there you have it, all the tournaments available to you over the course of the month in Texas, all of them sure to be a blast, no matter which one you pick! I hope that this series will help you all to be in the know about every tournament this wonderful state has to offer. I know of quite a few Texas players that I see on ladder/free play quite often, and you all live well within the areas of these tournaments, so I encourage you to give them a try and prove yourself in the best way you can. Regardless of how you do, expect to have a good time and meet some friendlies people, you can even make quite a few friends, I'm sure of it. Until next time AiB, I plan on giving all of you plenty of articles worth reading from here on out!
