Hello AiB, and welcome to my newest article where you will find
everything you need to know regarding Whobo 4, from where it is, to what
hype matches you can expect. It has been such a long road since this
tournament was first announced, and now we're less than two weeks away
from possibly the biggest tournament Texas has ever seen! To start
things off, here are all the important links regarding the tournament
that you should know about.
First off, we have the link to
smashboards,
which is the most important link to know. Here, you will find the
address to the venue, instructions on what to do once you arrive, the
tournament schedule, prices for events and venue (which btw, if you're a
notable metaknight main, you don't have to pay for your 1v1 or 2v2
events, so if you feel like showing up anyone that thinks you're nothing
more than a player being carried by the best, here is your chance),
tournament rules, housing information, and other small information you
might be interested in. Please be sure that you read through
everything, because no one but you will be held responsible if you
decide to pay at the day of the tournament or if you drink alcohol when
you're not supposed to. If you have any problems with that, then as
Xyro himself would say...
Next up we have the link for
AiB,
although not as important information wise, it is essential to make
sure you click attending if you wish to receive any badges or ribbons or
medals associated with this tournament, because everyone knows how
important those are right?

Also be sure to click attending on the
facebook
page, and who knows, maybe a friend of yours will see you attending and
want to go as well. Any type of exposure, big or small is greatly
appreciated and will help make this tournament even better, so thank you
for taking the time to do it.
Now let's talk online
registration. For anyone who has kept up with this tournament since it
was announced, you know about how much cheaper it was if you got
everything months in advance and paid for venue then, but as the months
have progressed, the venue price has increased as well, and after July
31st, you will no longer be able to pay for anything online. What this
means is, that not only will your venue fee jump up to $50, but when you
enter any event, you will be seeded randomly, so please please please
make sure you take care of everything online, it's easier on both
parties, and if you're gonna cause a hassle for Xyro, he's gonna make it
hard on you as well. While you're already online buying stuff for this
event, be sure to check out
AirbrushKing's shop where he will be selling all the official merchandise for Whobo 4.
On
a not so happy note, the Texas vs Florida crew battle that was
scheduled to occur will no longer be happening, due to disagreements
with how the crew battle was to be run, but we all know the real reason
why florida decided to back down, they knew the end result already.
However,
to make up for that, there will be a crew battle between Atlantic North
and Southwest, since they threw out the challenge to us, although as
far as I know, the teams haven't been 100% decided. You can most likely
expect to see players like Atomsk, Will, Chibo, Inui, Bloodcross,
MikeRay, Hinkage, and Izumi playing for Atlantic North, and players like
Gnes, razer, trela, denti, illmatic, dojo, jerm, infinity, kiraflax,
espy defending the southwest home turf. Regardless of who plays, it
will be a highlight event of the weekend for sure. There will also be
several money matches between Esam and Ally, each ranging from $50-$100!
Another hype money match to look forward to is a $100 match between MVD
and The Black American Dream, the Great Sodaddicted, Nike20! All of
these matches are sure to be streamed, so make sure to go to Chibo's
livestream page
here and click follow. Much like SKTAR, expect an article up with access to the stream there if you forget.
In
closing, I'd like to remind you all that this is indeed the very last
Whobo, and Xyro's last tournament as a host. It's been a long road for
him dating back to the days of melee, and he's ready to retire from it
all, but have no fear houston smash, for the great Sync has stepped up
to the plate and will continue to ensure that smash will live on in
Texas. Though this great legacy is ending, new opportunities can only
arise. I feel this game is far from dead, people just need to realize
that, and all it takes is going to an event and just seeing how
incredible it is to see so many people gather and how much fun it is. I
can't begin to describe the feeling of attending tournaments and seeing
the dedication so many players have, it's just so motivating and drives
me to want to get better. I can only hope others feel the same, but I
can guarantee you that Whobo 4 will be one of the most unique tournament
experiences you have, and Xyro always makes his events interesting,
which makes it so sad that he will be leaving us. Be sure you don't
miss the chance to attend the last of his legendary events, you may end
up regretting it. Thank you for your time all, hope this was helpful.
