Hi everyone, it’s time for another bi-weekly ladder update! It looks like activity in all the ladders besides normal singles has declined somewhat, unfortunately. Remember that your activity is needed to keep the newer ladders around!

Characters were taken from your profile or ladder feedback. If your main is not listed on here correctly (or at all), please post on this thread so that the update will be more accurate.

This is also a reminder to everyone that we’re awarding trophies at the end of the season for “Sickest Combo” or “Best Comeback”, so remember to save any matches that you think would qualify!

These top rankings have been taken on 9:00 pm CST on Saturday [06/8/13].

Notes

Singles:
- ANTi climbs up into the top spot! Will he be able to retain his spot until the next update?
-Though they aren’t on this update (other than Otori), it looks like a few of Japanese players have taken an interest in participating in this ladder season. Cool.
- MJGeesus and Megafox (still) have no losses.
-Forget what the previous update said about not as many Meta Knights: he now takes up 50% of the spots.

Doubles:
-There’s really not much that has changed since the last update, though some teams have switched spots adjacently.
-Doubles Day activity seems to be dying off. It seems that a new color wasn’t a good enough incentive.
-Maybe Doubles Perfect week will spark some more activity?

Project M Singles:
-Silly Kyle keeps his top spot with an extra 2 wins added on.
-SmashG0D and Babatunde are new for this update, using Luigi and Peach respectively.
-Decay has caused a few changes in ranks. Hrm.
-There’s a good variety of characters being used. That’s always nice to see.

Low Tier Singles:
-Tairbear retains his top position on this ladder with no additional matches played.
-Tsoky and Z are new for this update, using Mario and Samus respectively.
-Tsoky has no losses!

About two months remain before this season’s ladder ends on July 31st. That’s plenty of time to join up and try for one of the new badges that have been announced for this season! Even if you don’t think you can make it, laddering is always good practice and a way to improve your skills. Good luck to everyone and congrats to everyone that made it in this update!
Hi everyone, I hope you've been enjoying the new ladder season. With Project M and Low tiers there’s a lot more numbers to report!

The dates for singles and doubles ladder are messed up and there currently isn’t score decay. This should be fixed when Neal gets around to it...eventually.

Characters were taken from your profile or ladder feedback. If your main is not listed on here correctly (or at all), please post on this thread so that future updates will be more accurate.

This is also a reminder to everyone that we’re awarding trophies at the end of the season for “Sickest Combo” or “Best Comeback”, so remember to save any matches that you think would qualify!

These top rankings have been taken on 9:30 am CST on Saturday [05/25/13].

Notes

Singles:
-Otori barely leads ladder with 9 points above CT ZeRo.
-Offline player hype! CT TyRaNt joins his first ladder and we're seeing more activity from players that usually don't play ladder.
-Megafox and WaDiRob currently have no losses. Can they keep it up?
-Blazer has an impressive 62 win streak. How far can he take it?
-There seem to be fewer Meta Knights this season, though he still takes a significant % of the top spots
-Heru has played a whopping 105 games!
-M to the Ekos represents a low tier in the normal ladder!

Doubles:
-Blazer/SlayerZ lead with 16 wins and no losses.
-Zodi/Silly Kyle, Izumi-kun/Sakram3nt, West/erasmo700, and Gagga/Bike also have no losses.
-There’s quite a few MetaKnight and Peach teams this time around.
-Foodies/BlazerKarby have the most matches played so far (26), followed closely by Heru/Mosa Knight (22)
- The Doubles Day event has helped activity somewhat, but it would be great if there can be more participation!

Project M Singles:
-It seems quite a few people who don’t usually play wifi have stepped up and showed their skills in the new ladder.
-No one is undefeated in the top 16. Silly Kyle and TheReflexWonder come the closest with only one loss.
-Zerudahime has played the most games, with 61 matches.
-Onyx has played a wide variety of characters. Does he even have a main?

Low Tier Singles:
-Tairbear has a sizeable lead in first, with 185 points above Divinus Angelus Admiral Pit.
-However, Divinus Angelus Admiral Pit has the most matches played as well as the most wins!
-M O N A D O and SlayerZ are currently undefeated.
-LNIAD is also confusing me with how many characters he has played.
-Is Luigi the Meta Knight of Low Tier ladder? He seems to be used slightly more often than other characters, but does not seem to be as dominate as Meta Knight in Singles

Remember, this season’s ladder ends on July 31st. There’s still quite some time to join up if you haven't done already. Make sure to support the Project M or Low Tier ladders if you want to see them again in following seasons! Congratulations to everyone who made it in the update and good luck to everyone else who is trying.
Hi everyone! I’m here to announce the start of a new doubles ladder event – Doubles Day! We couldn’t really think of anything more creative to call it than that, sorry. Anyway, this event was designed to improve doubles ladder activity, since that has been a bit lacking as of late.

Here’s how it works: every week, there will be a day designated as doubles day.  On that day, whichever team plays the most matches (winning isn’t necessary) will earn the new Duo Dueler badge! It comes with a new name color: Black with a Red and Blue Shadow. The color will likely change in the future (when Enigma gets database powers) because Shadows were supposed to be mod only colors and it looks a bit ugly right now anyway. But it will still be a new color.

Sample:

The schedule of the event is tentatively scheduled to rotate from Mondays to Fridays (Fridays may be skipped over if there is a major tournament going on that weekend). You can find out when the designated day is each week by checking the Doubles Ladder Partner Finder group. For the first few events (or as necessary), we will send out a group PM reminder on the designated day for convenience - we might also designate a time that day for mod teams to show up for a chance at the Double Danger badge (depends on availability, of course).

The first event will start on Monday, May 13th.

Fine print:
-Your team must have played at least 3 matches that day to earn the badge
-In the event that there is a tie in number of matches played, the badge will be awarded to the team with the highest score. However, if the score happens to be tied too, each team will get the badge.
-If a team that has the badge already plays the most matches on that day, no one gets the badge for the week. That team will instead receive TCG cards (including ones from the Duo card category).

Special thanks to xMARx for the idea initially, Skyviper for making the badge, and Enigma for adding the color.

P.S. If you are having difficulties joining doubles ladder, follow these instructions to get past the glitch: http://allisbrawl.com/forum/topic.aspx?id=202981

For those of you that have been keeping up with the ladder or recent content, you know that we have been hosting events for ladder every weekend to increase activity. While things are looking fairly decent, we can always do better, and a little fun never hurts anyone. To add an extra spark to ladder, I wanted to introduce a new event: Perfect Week!

The Perfect Week is based on an episode of How I Met Your Mother, where Barney Stinson, the ladies man of the series, accepts the challenge of taking home a new woman every night of the week. If you're not understanding what I'm getting at, the idea of this event is to take one of your fellow smashers home every night of the week. The idea of this event is to defeat at least one new opponent every night of the week. To make this event special, it will only take place during official seasons (ones where badges count and playoffs occur.) In addition, there will be two different weeks for the ladders. For this season, the Perfect Week schedule is as follows:

Singles: July 16th - 22nd
Doubles: July 23rd - 29th

Your matches can be played any time throughout the day as long as they are submitted by midnight (EST) of that day. To be clear you can play the same opponent as many times as you want in that one week, but they will only count towards one day of your Perfect Week. The new opponents don't have to be someone you've never played in your ladder history; just someone you haven't played during the Perfect Week. The Perfect Weeks have been scheduled to match the appropriate weekend events. This means the weekend of Singles Perfect Week is Singles Weekend, and the weekend of Doubles Perfect Week is Doubles Weekend. We do realize that acquiring these badges may be difficult, especially for doubles, but that's the point. The badges will be worth at least 500 points (the doubles one might be more than singles due to the difficulty of finding matches), and have a Barney Stinson theme to it. A week before the first Perfect Week, I will be posting a blog to remind everyone.

P.S. Don't forget that this weekend is Doubles Weekend! If you need a refresher on the ladder schedule, click here.
As Enrish stated in his latest ladder article, one of the changes we plan to implement is more ladder weekends. Ever since the match requirements for playoffs were introduced during the Road to Apex ladder, the brackets never met their intended quotas. My goal is to try to restore the brackets to their former glory, give you all more chances to play, and liven up those ladder chats by means of two sub-changes:

1. In addition to Doubles Weekends, there will be Singles Weekends. While not as bad as doubles, singles brackets have been a few players short...even though it should be fairly easy for everyone to meet the requirement of thirty matches. (Just look at all of the players who played at least a hundred matches in the past!) Regardless, the timespan is the same as Doubles Weekends, and shall remain like this unless stated otherwise in a blog. Here are the days and times (based on Eastern Standard Time):

-Friday: 3 pm - midnight (12 am)
-Saturday: noon (12 pm) - midnight (12 am)
-Sunday: 1 pm - 10 pm

The badges, however, are a different story. With respect to the event itself, only one is being made for playing at least two matches on Friday, Saturday, AND Sunday. For those badge connoisseurs out there (using the non-vulgar version of the badge name for the article's sake) who are curious as to why this is, keep in mind that there used to be only one badge for Doubles Nights. The only two reasons that badge is still given out in addition to the actual Doubles Weekend badge is because doubles ladder isn't usually crowded, and...well, badges can't be deleted, so no point in neglecting it. Back on topic, if there seems to be a decline in attendance as the weekend goes by, then I'll consider a second badge.

2. There will be ladder events every weekend, and they will alternate between singles and doubles. This weekend (June 8 - 10) will be Singles Weekend, next weekend (June 15 - 17) will be Doubles Weekend (SUNDAY WILL GO FROM 12 AM TO 12 AM (24 HOURS) FOR FATHER'S DAY), and all future weeks will switch in that fashion. Keep in mind that the last weekend an event will take place before the ladder ends is July 27 - 29, which will be a Doubles Weekend.

That's about all you need to know when it comes to the schedule. I'll close this article by listing all of the badges you can earn for these events:

Singles: wifi warrior, staff slayer, and singles weekend warrior.

Doubles: double dater, doubles weekend warrior, and double danger.

As always, if you qualify for any of these, let Enrish or I know. Happy laddering!
Greeting everyone, it's time for another announcement for the AiB 2011 Smash Election! I hope you've all been enjoying the election so far. I've been having fun hosting the mascot tourney and seeing all of the tickets rallying for support for their causes. I'd like to apologize about not being able to have the Doubles Tourney everyone has been looking forward to last week, but I'll for sure be hosting it tonight at 8 PM EST, so no need to wait any longer for that. I apologize for all the date changes, and I know some people might have issues with this date; however no date (including the original one I made) works for everyone, so just try your best to make it and if you can't there are still more events to make up points in, so no need to worry.  Also, just an idea I was recently mentioned. If only one team member can show up, I'll allow the other to enter with a level 9 computer reprsenting their mascot. That should make things a little interesting. lol

Furthermore, I'd like to announce this week's contest. I'll be hosting a group decoration contest in collaboration with Miles of SmashWiki. This contest will involve you and your supporters customizing your support groups to advertise your tickets to the members of AiB. You'll be judged on creativity, effort, theme, and overall satisfaction. You can throw a bunch of cool pics of your mascot on your group page, make up cool slogans, or think of anything else that will make your groups shine over the other ones. Each ticket will have until this Friday, June 3rd at midnight EST, to have their groups finalized. We'll judge them over the weekend and reveal the winners in next week's update.

I'll be looking forward to seeing how creative you can get with your groups this week, and even more so to tonight's Doubles Tourney. Good luck to everyone and I hope you have fun!

Falln: Hi! I guess we’ll start off by your names and mains in brawl.

Junebug: I'm Junebug and I main Lucario and DK. In teams, I use Lucario/Wario/and Metaknight

Sanoscy: I'm Sanoscy and I main Meta knight and Pokemon Trainer

Falln: So, this has been the first full season of All is Brawl Doubles and you got second in the playoffs. How does it feel?

Junebug: It feels good!

Sanoscy: Awesome!

Junebug: I mean, at the beginning of the season, we were like geez, so many good teams, but we got this! We weren’t trying to be cocky, but tried to stay positive, because it’s better than assuming we’ll lose.

Falln: It’s argued that characters other than metaknight are the best in doubles, such as Wario or Game and Watch. What’s your take on that?

Junebug: Wario sucks in wifi doubles, in my opinion, against most of the cast. Meta Knight is good on wifi, but not amazing, except for his tornado. Lucario is good and bad in doubles. You're going to be at half power 24/7 if you're even. However, if the time comes where you fall behind...Lucario behind in doubles kills remarkably easy. I've killed with fsmashes around 60-80 when behind. It's broken, but you never want to be behind, so it’s a double sided dagger.

Falln: So in your experience in the doubles ladder, who has been your toughest opponent and why?

Junebug: We haven't really played an opponent that we said 'WOW, THEY'RE SOO GOOD! But any team that Anti is on, because he’s very good in doubles. Hydruz also seems to counter me and Sanoscy as well. We haven't found a team that just blowed our minds yet, we'll hopefully get there this ladder.

Falln: A lot of new teams are entering this season, so perhaps we'll find some.

Junebug: Probably, Jbandrew + Anti are our biggest fear, and of course you guys, since you knocked us out last time!

Sanoscy: Lag is broken.

Falln: Alrighty, so in doubles, how do you generally play?

Junebug: We alternate. We don't really have set things, but I usually get most of the kills. Sanoscy does the damage. Tanking depends on the situation. Sometimes he tanks more, sometimes I do.

Sanoscy: ...

Junebug: That's a compliment Sanoscy!

Falln: So do you guys have any tips for what to do for other newcomers in doubles?

Junebug: Newcomers? Maybe practice combos, talk to each other a lot.

Falln: Do you guys have a particular stage that you like to fight on the most? Any reasons for it?

Sanoscy: I let june choose the stages.

Junebug: I like say a stage, and he says yes or no, usually yes. Sometimes I have no CP, but we don’t counterpick wild stages. We noticed a lot of teams do in the ladder, so I guess we should try to do it as well.

Falln: Alrighty, well that's it I suppose. Thanks for your time.

Sanoscy: Thanks!

Junebugx and Sanoscy made it into the doubles playoffs with a record of 10-0, making their way through to grand finals, losing 2-3, 2-3, getting second place. Good job, Sanoscy and Junebugx!

Let me explain the whole point of an article about doubles first.  Some of you may not like doubles, some of you may be horrible at it and so you don’t care, and some of you might just think I suck so you don’t care what I have to say.  Well, this article can easily change all of that.  If you already love doubles, then you’ll enjoy reading this for sure.  If you doubt my credentials when it comes to doubles, just go take a peek at my medal case.  You’ll see tons of doubles medals dating back to the release of Brawl and even many national and regional medals for doubles, including lots of first place medals.  My normal partner is Atomsk, so a lot of what I will explain will be based on my experiences with him.  I have also teamed with dmbrandon, ChuDat, ksizzle, Bum, Ether, teh_spamerer, and Mew2King, all with great success.

After the huge turnout for our last doubles night, we've decided it's time for another! The next doubles night will take place on Wednesday, July 8! The festivities will start at around 4 PM EST (That's 1 PM for those on the West Coast) and will continue all day and night until we've all brawled ourselves out!

If you missed your chance at the double dater badge, this is another chance to get one! And if you think you've got what it takes, you can take a shot at my team, Banhammers, for a chance to win a special badge!
