Hey everyone! It's that time again for another ladder update! Just a few side-notes, I have decided to make this bi-weekly for better results and changes. And if there are any epic replay videos of your matches that you'd like to share out and be featured on any ladder update article, feel free to send me a PM and I'll see what to do (though this will most likely be my last update for this season so it may have to wait until the next season). Anyway, let's get on to business. Yes, I will always say that my apology in advance still remains up here if I still remain inaccurate with your use of mains. This is all based on what my eyes see in your feedback.

Greeting to everyone on AiB! I apologize for not getting to this on Saturday, as I was too occupied outdoors with attending the Anime Expo and other IRL plans, which caused me to remain offline for the rest of the day at the time. And so, I've worked on this during the morning of Independence Day. Also, due to recent small changes on each update, I'm about to decide on whether this should be made bi-weekly or not (as well as to provide much more interesting info, provide me some epic replays, etc.). Tell me what you guys think. Anyway, I give you guys the 5th update of this season's ladder, packed with some new and some old information. Let's see what we've got. And yes, my apology in advance still remains up here if I still remain inaccurate with your use of mains. This is all based on what my eyes see in your feedback.

Hey, everyone! I welcome you to the 4th update of this season's ladders that I bring to you as the competition still burns up! So, are we starting to see increased amounts of top tiers this time around while other characters of varied tiers headbutt each other for the top rankings? Will it be somewhat predictable for our eyes at this point to see who might be able to make it to the playoffs? We shall find out in this current update. And yes, my apology in advance still remains up here if I still remain inaccurate with your use of mains. This is all based on what my eyes see in your feedback.

Hey, everyone! With all the awesome and amazing E3-related content many of you have shared in the community throughout this week, we now shift gears to the Ladder area! I bring to you the 3rd update of this season's ladders as the competition continues to burn up with very intense brawls! Since the last update, Enrish has decided to pass the "Head of Ladder Content" title to me. I've had more available time and a little more interest to do this than he did. And so, I'm pretty much working this out alone, though I do ask for some assistance when it's needed. Anyway, let's see this week's recent updates. I'm still apologizing in advance if I still remain inaccurate with your use of mains. This is all based on what my eyes see in your feedback.

Side-note: These top rankings have been taken at 9:00 pm PST on Friday [06/18/10].

Notes

Singles:
  • Despite Atomsk's semi-inactivity on the ladder, he still occupies the 1st place position at this point. Will anyone dare to surpass him?
  • xxpatgxx and Mango254 are the only 2 players in the current top rankings who are undefeated at the moment.
  • These following players have been dropped from the last update's rankings: [18]_WindeX_, [28]Anuar, [30]blackanese, and [32]flatshade.
  • Top 5 Players with the Most Wins → Illmatic. (166), flameleon (153), Amaterasu Okami (125), addy (123), and llodownedu (110).
  • Top 5 Players with the Most Losses → Illmatic. (64), Aphro (62), flameleon (41), Itakio (40), Amaterasu Okami (39).

Doubles:
  • Known as "We star in antis video", we have yet another team, not ranked from the last update, who currently takes 1st place with an undefeated record.
  • We're now seeing a slight increase of mid-tier teams in this recent update... which is pretty interesting, I must say. Keep it up, you guys!
  • These following teams have been dropped from the last update's rankings: [06]Malcolm sleeps with a rainbow monkey, [13]Minin that runite, [15]Desu?, and [16]Team STAAARVE then go die in a quake of earth-ice-storm or fire!.
  • Top 5 Teams with the Most Wins → "PK Fiyah!" (32), "Got Milk?" (23), "Bushin Soutenha" (22), "LuckySaki" (17), and "We star in antis combo video" (15).
  • Top 6 Teams with the Most Losses → "Bushin Soutenha" (11), "LuckySaki" and "Wasta Pray" tie with 10 losses, "The Fartans!" (9), "PK Fiyah!" (7), and "Flame+Kain" (6),

We still have about a month and a half till the playoffs come around. While there's some time remaining, you can still take a shot at any of the ladders and have some fun while representing your mains! Just remember that there is a total of $520 in prize money, as it gets split to first place prizes for each ladder: $320 for singles and $150 for doubles. Of course, some of the players who got (or will get) dropped will most likely try their best to get back to the top rankings. As each player and team continues to fight for the prize and the top of the ladders, the competitiveness and intensity will also increase! And so, to the current top 32 players and top 16 teams who made it to this update, we congratulate you for your hard work! Continue to aim higher as you try to maintain your current positions. We wish every player and team the best of luck once again as you seek for the top and make it to the playoffs! :]
Hey, everyone! It's finally about time we got the second ladder update posted up, and we apologize for the huge delay due to IRL-related things occupying our time. After almost 4 weeks, we have seen some interesting changes in the top rankings while the other players and teams are still trying their best to occupy their current positions. This time, we're seeing some mixture of both high and mid tiers used, along with a very small hint of low tiers throughout both ladders. Anyway, continue reppin' them mains out there while you're at it! And I apologize in advance if I'm still somewhat not accurate with your use of mains. So... shall we check these current top rankings out?

Side-note: These top rankings have been taken at 7:30 pm PST on Tuesday [06/08/10].

Greetings to everyone, and welcome to the first update of this year's Spring Ladders! We are currently on the season's second week, and after a month of the April Fools' ladder we are back to the real deal! I'll be looking over the ranks of both singles and doubles but I'd first like to state some changes from last season's "Weekly Ladder Updates". Our previous "Weekly Ladder Update" host, Dannykat, has gone M.I.A. Therefore, I'd like to introduce your new hosts: Enrish and, yours truly, lightlanayru. The two of us will be working together and switching off every week to supply you with the most recent updates on ladder. From the number one ranking player to the underdog low tier character, we will be exploring everything through both ladders in these next three months. Enrish was supposed to cover this week but due to lack of sleep, he has currently lost his mind. And so I’ve been asked to cover for him. Anyways, with that great news out of the way, I'd like to introduce you to this season's first weekly ladder updates!

Side-note: These top rankings have been taken at 5:30pm PST on Thursday [05/13/10].

We are just at the beginning of the season with two and a half months left until the playoffs will take place! Try out the ladder if you haven't and have some fun! It's a great place to experiment with characters, practice, have fun and make new great friends. Remember, there is actually money to be won at the end of the season if you make it that far and win -- $520 ($370 in singles and $150 in doubles) in total to be exact! A lot of people have already started and gotten high up in the ranks with no problem at all! Maybe one of you can do the same? Moving on, it seems that the ladder is running smoothly in this spectacular spring season. There are a lot of new names and also some familiar names! Some may even pop up back again next week as some players are dropped in their rankings, but to the current top 32 players and 16 teams, we congratulate you all for your hard work! Hopefully you can all keep your placings or aim even higher if you're not 1st already! We wish you all the best of luck for anyone seeking to be at the top and make it to the playoffs! :]
As you are probably aware of, our top ladder players have been duking it out these last four weeks. And now both playoffs events have been concluded. On schedule too, for once. Which is surely a result of the professional, seasoned veteran Playoffs host who fought bravely to ensure that the deadline was kept. Oh, and his assistant Enrish probably helped out as well.

There have been a few surprises this round of playoffs. Dabuz winning the singles playoffs is probably not one of them. And seeing HolyNightmare and Ally ascend to take first place in the doubles playoffs probably doesn't surprise too many people either. Congratulations, guys! Lets have a look at the two events, and the prizes awarded for the top placers.

Singles

The final bracket can be seen here: Click me.
Note that this is sadly not an accurate chart of who beat who, since unfortunately some players had to be given losses for not showing up and such. I think its safe to say that the Playoffs are tests both in Brawl skill as well as your ability to show up on time.
It's probably safe to say that the biggest upset in the Singles Playoffs is how Ally "only" got 5th place, losing first vs. Dabuz and then unexpectedly being knocked out of the tournament by Addy, who also knocked out Atomsk in Losers' Finals.

It should also be mentioned that San pulled off a fairly impressive 13th place using Ike.

Prize winners for the AiB Winter Singles Playoffs 2010:

1. Dabuz - $200
2. Addy - $100
3. Atomsk - $50
4. SS13 - $ 20

Unfortunately no matches were recorded from the Singles Playoffs this time.

Doubles

Feast your eyes on the sight of the final bracket for doubles here: Click me.
Ally and HolyNightmare made short work out of everyone who got in their way. SS13 and Raffi-X were sent to the losers side of the bracket in semi-finals by Waft-Oli and Debom, but managed to avenge their loss vs. them in Losers' Finals, thus advancing to Grand Finals to experience the onslaught of HolyNightmare and Ally.

The team that held the first place on the doubles ladder throughout the ladder season, Tearbear and Choconaner, ended up in a disappointing 9th place.
Oh and lets not forget.. The highest placing DK main this round of Playoffs was Dr.Grandpa. His team ended up in 4th place in doubles. Good stuff!

Prize winners for the AiB Winter Doubles Playoffs 2010:

1. HolyNightmare and Ally - $100
2. SS13 and Raffi-X - $50

We do have some replays from the doubles winners finals. Sadly match 1 and 4 could not be recorded, but lets take a look at what we got.

Congratulations to all the winners! And thanks to Waft-Oli for recording, Enrish for helping out by hosting doubles, and lightlanayru, Masterkoga and Zolga for their great help in writing content.

Allright, I guess this was it for Playoffs this time. The next real ladder season will start in a few days, and the rat race for the next round of Playoffs will start. Good luck to everyone who plan on fighting their way to the top!
Hello everyone and welcome to the sixth Winter ladder update! First of all, this really isn't a "weekly" ladder update if there really wasn't one last week, so I apologize for such an absence, but I was away from home. Anyways, I would like to thank anyone who has suggested some ideas from the last update and will consider a few for my future updates. These updates are going to receive a big change in the future, but first I’m just going to need a little more help on your guys’ end. As for the update this week, there will be less info under the notes section as an early change I am thinking about. I want to give you guys more detail and fewer boring calculations. But anyways, lets get back to focusing on what this update is meant for -- showing you all how the Singles and Doubles ladder has progressed since the last week!

  • Singles Notes
    • Atomsk takes his 1st place spot back from dabuz, as he has not lost a match since the 6th of this month. In dabuz's position, it doesn't really help that he suffered 2 losses in a row! One to Ozz and another to YoshQ!
    • HolyNightmare is known to usually be in the top placings in every AllisBrawl ladder season. He does it again and reaches the 2nd place spot, using his main, R.O.B.
    • Now something we all haven't seen in a LONG time...a Donkey Kong player in the top 32 since ook last season! He goes by the name of Dr. Grandpa and is performing quite averagely as I can see, but just playing really good people.
    • These rankings were taken at 7:30 AM ET on Friday, February 19, 2010.
    Doubles Notes
    • What's this?! There is a new team that has taken the 1st place spot and that would be "Da Dragonz!" This team consists of Key and Inspectah, as mikeray4 and Bizkit have fallen to 4th place, being kicked off their throne for once!

    • There are also a lot more activity and new teams on the rankings and they seem to not be playing around! I'm seeing a lot more good players from singles teaming and entering doubles, getting ahead very quickly! Tearbear and ChocoNaner, known as "flapjack and knuckles" used to team in the last season and did exceptionally well. Now they are teaming again and have made it to the top 16 already with 16 wins and 0 losses.
    • Something fun that I can spot is another team called "Da Dragon Slayerz," which consists of Waft-OLi and Chad81 (formally known as Debom, who one of the last season's champs). I am unsure if their objective is to actually defeat the top team, or just surpass them. Maybe we will see soon!
    Future Changes?
Now that the placings are shown and taken care of, I want to bring you guys back to the changes I was mentioning at the beginning of the update. As I said, these updates are going receive some major changes and you as a community will be a big part of it! I know I asked for suggestions last week, but still require a little bit of feedback from whoever is willing to help me out! Here are a few things I took into consideration and are thinking about:

-These “weekly” updates may become bi-weekly or even monthlies. This would make each update more to look forward to as the changes from the last update to the new would have much more changes. What do you guys think? Should the frequency of the updates change? Or should they remain weekly?

-Someone suggested I should maybe add in player interviews with the top 32/16 and have one each article. Only question I have for you guys on this is what questions would you guys expect to be asked? We have already provided player interviews in the past. I have heard some were boring and more interesting questions should be asked. I want to make these as entertaining to you all as possible. Help me out here.

-I was also interested in changing the notes section of the rankings. Reducing the amount of statistics, increasing more detail. Maybe going into more about certain players? What details would be nice to see?

-Adding in some more fun features to the articles. Maybe adding in featured replays from your ladder matches? Finding some funny feedback that some angry people leave on your profiles? Suggestions?

-Any other details I should be more into? Any suggestions help that would provide a better form of new entertainment for you all to read. Just be serious please.

So this is all I have on my mind right now. Your answers will influence my thoughts on the changes for the updates. I would be VERY appreciative if you all provide some feedback on here and maybe add in thoughts of your own. I just don’t want these articles to just be another boring thing to look at on the front page. I want this to be entertaining for you guys! The wi-fi scene of Brawl may not be as hyped as offline, but it is still something that can be very much fun! Thank you all for any help and feedback I receive.
There is a over a month left in this ladder season, and the competition is just as fierce as ever! Remember the AllisBrawl playoffs await the top 60 of singles and 30 of doubles, each event giving out over $350 in cash prizes to the top 4 placings! Everyday the rankings change and new names reach the top, as older ones drop. Who will still remain at the end of the season to participate in the playoffs? No one knows! Until then, we would like to congratulate the top 32 players and 16 teams in reaching your respective placings thus far! Until next time everyone!
Welcome to the fifth Winter Ladder Update! I've been thinking lately of how the updates are written and I really would like to tweak them a lot, but that actually would depend on you, the community, in what you all want to see! But anyways, I will always be keeping you all updated every week on the current ladder rankings! Check out the end of the article for more details! Like always there is a lot that has changed over the past week in both ladders! Everyone in the ladder are playing in hope to enter the playoffs at a chance of winning money! So let's see what the past week has brought us

  • Singles Notes
    • Dabuz finally takes 1st place away from Atomsk! He has been known to do very well in his ladder performance with Olimar. Although he's been seen occasionally using other characters such as Marth, Samus, and Sonic at random. Good job!
    • Atomsk suffered 7 losses in a row last week, costing him a deduction of 112 points just because he was apparently using Falco in his ladder matches for once! He is currently using King Dedede again, which is his said main, and now winning more matches again.
    • The following players have dropped out of last week's rankings: [17]CutestLilLucario, [19]YoshQ, [21]Pikabunz, [25]Cheese, [26]John123456, [28]MegaPlox, [30]Big_M, and [32]Baki Hanma.
    • The amount of Diddy Kong players on the top 32 have increased! There are now 5 players what either main or 2nd him, with recent Pound 4 winner, ADHD, being the highest placed player of the bunch! They even outnumber the number of Meta Knights now! Of course, Snake still leads in character count though, with 7 players still using him.
    • Top 5 players with the highest win % are NAKAT (.978), Zen (.963), Negga (.950), xxpatgxx (.946), and Halz E Fresh (.926). NAKAT seems to still have his win streak going which is currently at 26. Will anyone break it?
    • Top 5 players with the most wins are: Raffi-X (150), Atomsk (149), Player-1 (102), addy (89), and Takeover1806 (76). Remember folks, the amount of wins on the ladder DO NOT mean you'll place high! It's all about who you play.
    • There are now 2164 registered players on the ladder. That's about 130 more players since last week!
    • These rankings were taken at 6:00 AM ET on Friday, February 5, 2010.
    Doubles Notes
    • Making a recent change to their team name, "**** YOU MORONS THAT USE KIRBY. HE GETS BETTER ON WIFI," which consists of mikeray4 and Bizkit continue to sit at 1st place on the double ladder. They are a double snake team, who also do quite well individually in singles!

    • The following teams were dropped from last week's update: [8]We want to be the very best! and [15]Green Team
    • "Orihime~Ichigo" make it into the top 16 with only 4 wins and 0 losses. The team consists of Orihime Inoue and Negga. Judging from the very minimal feedback, they may be a Diddy Kong + Olimar team, but many people change characters just for doubles specifically so you can't judge anything that easily until you play them.
    • Up to now, there are 395 registered teams on the ladder. Doesn't anyone else want to play in some doubles matches?
    Suggestions?

Something you don't see often eh? Well to explain it all in depth, I was thinking of changing these updates a bit to keep you all interested in reading instead of just seeing these as "another update" to just look at. I would like to know what you guys think I should change. What should I stop doing? What should I start doing? Any input would help a lot! If I find your suggestion to be very useful, I may reward you with a suggestion badge for all your help. As many hours as this takes for me to write, I still want these updates to be as much entertaining as possible for you all to read! Help me out here. But anyways.....
There are 2 months left until the end of the season, when playoffs will take place! So try out the ladder if you haven't and have some fun! Remember, there is actually money to be won at the end of the season if you make it that far and win -- $375 in total to be exact! A lot of people already have started and gotten high up in the ranks with no problem at all! Maybe one of you can do the same? Anyways, the ladder is running smoothly in this wonderful winter season. There are a lot of new names and also old names! Some may even pop up back again next week as some players are dropped in their rankings, but to the current top 32 and 16, we congratulate you all for your hard work for now! Hopefully you all can keep your placings or even aim higher if you're not 1st already! We wish you all good luck for anyone seeking to be at the top and make it to playoffs!
Welcome to the fourth Winter Ladder Update! This whole week has been hectic really with me being gone for about a week and trying to catch up to a lot of things, but I managed to be able to provide you all with another update this week. Like always, there are many changes in placement between the players. It is seeming to become a little more averaged out to foresee who will be in the playoffs or not. New names are popping up as older ones are dropped and also, doubles seems to be picking up a bit in activity! Hopefully that continues, but anyways, let's see what the past week has brought us:

Three months have passed since the start of the ladder and it's finally time to reward the top finishers for their hard work. These are the badges that will be distributed this week to all of AiB's top players.

    • 1st Place: 2008 Fall Ladder Champion Badge

Overall 3,107 players signed up for the ladder and competed in 43,456 sets, that is approximately 7,250 hours of online Brawl or the equivalent of running sets back to back for over 300 straight days. There was an 18% increase in the number of participants and a 42% increase in number of matches played over the Fall Season.
