Hello AiB! I hope everyone has been doing alright, and I hope the ladder has been challenging and enjoyable. With the upcoming Spring Break and with us drawing closer and closer to the end of this season’s ladder, there is still time to join if you haven’t already, and maintaining your score so that it won’t stale too much from inactivity.  Or if you have a goal to get top ranked in singles/doubles/both, now is a good time to work on that.

Something I also want to bring up is the matter of the character mains listed for the people mentioned in these updates. I want all of you to understand that how this works is, your main gets listed by your ladder feedback and the character mains you have listed on your profile. The more specific you are with who you main, the easier it is for your mains to get listed here correctly. If your mains are not getting listed here correctly, then go to your profile and show what characters you have been using by installing the 'Super Smash Brothers Brawl'. Or send me and Trish a PM with the characters you wanted listed for the update, that way we can be as accurate as possible. Thank you.

Notes

Singles:

- Salem remains in the lead with his Zero Suit Samus. In fact, ZSS seems to be getting decent representation for this ladder. MeroKnight, Zero Heart, and xxpatgxx have also been a great job showing off our underrated, agile bounty hunter.
- FOW (10 – 0) and Waymas (19 – 0) have a winning streak with no losses. Will they be able to maintain that streak?
- We have eight people join us for this ladder update, and they weren’t on the last ladder update: eeVeeT, L_Cancel, Waymas, xxpatgxx, Vermanubis, Super Saiyajin, MintyFlesh, and So Fatal.
- Vermanubis makes it to the top rankings with Ganondorf. Yes, ladies and gentlemen. Let the King of Evil relish in his moment of glory for a change. Good job, Verm!
- Zebra and Waft continue representing their Wario, respectively. Waymus joins in as well.
- Top Five Players with the Most Wins → ADHD (192), Zero Heart (147), Jules (146), Zebra (128), and MeroKnight (102).


Doubles:

- Flame’s Team leads the doubles rankings with double Meta Knight.
- Two teams have been added to this ladder update, and they weren’t in the last: Bettar den u and TEAM TIMOTEI
- Team ‘Just fartin in the dark’ went from being 15th place in the last update, to being 4th on this one. Nice job catching up, Chimpakt and Waft.
- The Ragnell Legends maintain their position with their double Ike team.
- Top Six Teams with the Most Wins → Flame’s Team (44), DLK (29), Fiendnation (24), Team Red (21), and Muramasa Baby! (20).

Alrighty, it's that time again. Welcome to the fifth and final ladder update of the fall season! I hope you guys have enjoyed stuffing yourselves during Thanksgiving. xD Anyway, seeing as my access is currently limited for a little while due to some terrible technical difficulties, the rankings still had to be taken the night before, so please bear with me. Though, I will most likely consider taking the rankings at a very later time for the next season. So, with the ladder closing very soon, many players have decided to step things up in their game. What suprises await us? What has been expected from this update overall? We shall see whose wishes have come true! Then again, I've got quite a few singles videos in my disposal.

In the spectator's corner, there were only 2 singles videos sent to my inbox by Kyleisreal. Though these actually seem more like friendlies (after a ladder set, that is) than ladder matches, it's better than nothing. Despite the top tiers galore, I'd say these are worth to watch, even though Ally isn't using his Snake in these matches. I think this is pretty well evened out. (Texture/music hacks are definitely used for your viewing pleasure. :3)

• Well, what do you know... Ally decided to stick to his word as he makes it to this final ladder update, currently ranking in 4th!
• The Addy definitely has the most decent jump in the rankings. He was in 29th place about two weeks ago, and with some serious catch up, he is currently placing 3rd with his King Dedede. Nicely done!
• Since October 18th, chiiiiiiiii hasn't been remaining active on this ladder. Yet, despite suffering some decay, he is barely moving down the rankings. I do feel that he'd do pretty well if he plays again.
• These following players have been dropped from the last update's rankings: [13]Pikabunz, [18]Death_Alex, [24]Captain L, [25]YoshQ, [28]Zazen Agenite, and [30]Renegade TX2000.
• Top 5 Players with the Most Wins → megafox112 (324), 5th Best In Wisconsin (278), Amaterasu Okami (272), raytay824 (145), and PentaSalad (140).

• Ouch... the win streak for "we lost to them Y" has finally been shattered by one loss. Despite that, they still remain in 2nd place, which is still a good thing!
• Actually, taking another glance at the rankings, the top 4 positions remain unchanged while 5th, 6th, and 7th place positions are switching with each other. This is a little interesting...

Singles Notes

• HolyNightmare, Ally's brother, has taken 1st place for the 1st time. At the beginning of the ladder he was mixing in Meta Knight in a lot of his matches, along with his main, R.O.B., but now decided to solely stick to him, bringing him up the ladder easily.

• Another person we see on the top 32 who is very unexpected to see is flameleon. His main is Mario of all characters! He's already a hard character to win with against the higher tier players who know what they're doing, so this is an amazing feat! Good job man!

• Having not played since January 19, xxpatgxx has been in the top 10 since then! He has been suffering decay and is barely moving down the rankings. I believe if he started playing again, he'd be much higher.

• These rankings were taken at 5:00 PM ET on Friday, February 26, 2010.

Doubles Notes

• Da Dragonz still hold 1st place by a few points above Da Slayerz, who seem to be creeping up on them.
  
  
  
• As far as team names go, it seems like many of the top placers are having a bit of fun changing their names to reply about the teams or team members. One I find interesting is one named "IF DANNYKAT TYPES THIS HES GAY," made by Tearbear and Choconaner. I see how it is.. :(

As I was saying in the beginning, I took into consideration what you guys were suggesting in and out of the article and the following is what I'd like to say will be the changes for the ladder updates:

- The next update will be on March 12, 2010 and they will now be Bi-weekly! This makes the ranks changes much more different than just a week, thus making these more exciting to see eh?

- Every update, I will provide you all with a section showing the "Feedbacks of the weeks!" These may or may not be entirely up to me. I can accept PMs of links to feedback anyone see's interesting or funny. I'm also pretty sure a few may purposely leave feedback just because of this, but we'll see how this works out.

- Every update will have an interview from the top 32 in singles. There will be no interviews from doubles unless the demand is really high. It just seems like interviewing two people at once would seem crazy.


So that's all I have for you all in the changes. I am still open for suggestions if you have any, but in the meantime, this is how the updates will be from now.

There is only a month left in this ladder season, and the competition is just as fierce as ever! Remember the AllisBrawl playoffs await the top 60 of singles and 30 of doubles, each event giving out over $350 in cash prizes to the top 4 placings! Everyday the rankings change and new names reach the top, as older ones drop. Who will still remain at the end of the season to participate in the playoffs? No one knows! Singles Notes

• Atomsk takes his 1st place spot back from dabuz, as he has not lost a match since the 6th of this month. In dabuz's position, it doesn't really help that he suffered 2 losses in a row! One to Ozz and another to YoshQ!

• HolyNightmare is known to usually be in the top placings in every AllisBrawl ladder season. He does it again and reaches the 2nd place spot, using his main, R.O.B.

• Now something we all haven't seen in a LONG time...a Donkey Kong player in the top 32 since ook last season! He goes by the name of Dr. Grandpa and is performing quite averagely as I can see, but just playing really good people.

Doubles Notes

• What's this?! There is a new team that has taken the 1st place spot and that would be "Da Dragonz!" This team consists of Key and Inspectah, as mikeray4 and Bizkit have fallen to 4th place, being kicked off their throne for once!
  
  
• There are also a lot more activity and new teams on the rankings and they seem to not be playing around! I'm seeing a lot more good players from singles teaming and entering doubles, getting ahead very quickly! Tearbear and ChocoNaner, known as "flapjack and knuckles" used to team in the last season and did exceptionally well. Now they are teaming again and have made it to the top 16 already with 16 wins and 0 losses.

• Something fun that I can spot is another team called "Da Dragon Slayerz," which consists of Waft-OLi and Chad81 (formally known as Debom, who one of the last season's champs). I am unsure if their objective is to actually defeat the top team, or just surpass them. Maybe we will see soon!

Future Changes?

Now that the placings are shown and taken care of, I want to bring you guys back to the changes I was mentioning at the beginning of the update. As I said, these updates are going receive some major changes and you as a community will be a big part of it! I know I asked for suggestions last week, but still require a little bit of feedback from whoever is willing to help me out! Here are a few things I took into consideration and are thinking about:

-These “weekly” updates may become bi-weekly or even monthlies. This would make each update more to look forward to as the changes from the last update to the new would have much more changes. What do you guys think? Should the frequency of the updates change? Or should they remain weekly?

-Someone suggested I should maybe add in player interviews with the top 32/16 and have one each article. Only question I have for you guys on this is what questions would you guys expect to be asked? We have already provided player interviews in the past. I have heard some were boring and more interesting questions should be asked. I want to make these as entertaining to you all as possible. Help me out here.

-I was also interested in changing the notes section of the rankings. Reducing the amount of statistics, increasing more detail. Maybe going into more about certain players? What details would be nice to see?

-Adding in some more fun features to the articles. Maybe adding in featured replays from your ladder matches? Finding some funny feedback that some angry people leave on your profiles? Suggestions?

-Any other details I should be more into? Any suggestions help that would provide a better form of new entertainment for you all to read. Just be serious please.

So this is all I have on my mind right now. Your answers will influence my thoughts on the changes for the updates. I would be VERY appreciative if you all provide some feedback on here and maybe add in thoughts of your own. I just don’t want these articles to just be another boring thing to look at on the front page. I want this to be entertaining for you guys! The wi-fi scene of Brawl may not be as hyped as offline, but it is still something that can be very much fun! Thank you all for any help and feedback I receive.

There is a over a month left in this ladder season, and the competition is just as fierce as ever! Remember the AllisBrawl playoffs await the top 60 of singles and 30 of doubles, each event giving out over $350 in cash prizes to the top 4 placings! Everyday the rankings change and new names reach the top, as older ones drop. Who will still remain at the end of the season to participate in the playoffs? No one knows! • Dabuz finally takes 1st place away from Atomsk! He has been known to do very well in his ladder performance with Olimar. Although he's been seen occasionally using other characters such as Marth, Samus, and Sonic at random. Good job!

• Atomsk suffered 7 losses in a row last week, costing him a deduction of 112 points just because he was apparently using Falco in his ladder matches for once! He is currently using King Dedede again, which is his said main, and now winning more matches again.

• The following players have dropped out of last week's rankings: [17]CutestLilLucario, [19]YoshQ, [21]Pikabunz, [25]Cheese, [26]John123456, [28]MegaPlox, [30]Big_M, and [32]Baki Hanma.

• The amount of Diddy Kong players on the top 32 have increased! There are now 5 players what either main or 2nd him, with recent Pound 4 winner, ADHD, being the highest placed player of the bunch! They even outnumber the number of Meta Knights now! Of course, Snake still leads in character count though, with 7 players still using him.

• Top 5 players with the highest win % are NAKAT (.978), Zen (.963), Negga (.950), xxpatgxx (.946), and Halz E Fresh (.926). NAKAT seems to still have his win streak going which is currently at 26. Will anyone break it?

• Top 5 players with the most wins are: Raffi-X (150), Atomsk (149), Player-1 (102), addy (89), and Takeover1806 (76). Remember folks, the amount of wins on the ladder DO NOT mean you'll place high! It's all about who you play.

• There are now 2164 registered players on the ladder. That's about 130 more players since last week!

• "Orihime~Ichigo" make it into the top 16 with only 4 wins and 0 losses. The team consists of Orihime Inoue and Negga. Judging from the very minimal feedback, they may be a Diddy Kong + Olimar team, but many people change characters just for doubles specifically so you can't judge anything that easily until you play them.

• Up to now, there are 395 registered teams on the ladder. Doesn't anyone else want to play in some doubles matches?

Something you don't see often eh? Well to explain it all in depth, I was thinking of changing these updates a bit to keep you all interested in reading instead of just seeing these as "another update" to just look at. • There are now 253 teams registered on the doubles ladder. Doubles has always seemed to have a low amount of teams registered, despite the amount of complaints people had for AiB not having one. Hmm.

• Half of the previous ranking's teams were replaced with new teams now! It doesn't take much at the moment to get into the rankings for doubles as long as you win!
• iCario, leffen's team, and OhMyLLOD, are currently the only teams which are undefeated.

The season just started, so there are basically 3 months left until the end of the season, when playoffs will take place! So try out the ladder if you haven't and have some fun! Remember, there is actually money to be won at the end of the season if you make it that far and win -- $375 in total to be exact! Welcome to the first Winter Ladder Update! After a month of a holiday ladder, we are finally back to the real deal! Did everyone have a good time during the holidays?
