I guess it's not that he's a big margin ahead, but he does have a few attributes all other chars don't have:
-Incredible safety
-ALWAYS an option (except when getting infinited or dumb stuff like that lol)
-No disadvantaged MUs, maybe stage-wise, but in a neutral, stage strike fashion, he usually has the advantage
-Snake probably breaks this, but the margin between MK's wins and everyone else's wins are waaaaay different (Most of it is due to him being the perfect secondary, but you still can't deny the numbers are big)

I'm not sure that it's because half the SBR is screaming "ooh, ban him" as it is that he has these attributes that nobody else has. That's how I see it, the gap has definitely closed since Apex, but I think this was to acknowledge that he's that much better in those ways.

imo Lucario's a little bit too high, G&W is clearly better, Ness got a little overhyped, Zelda's funny though lol.
